i bought the non-magsafe one. and if you turn the wallet around (have the sticker part facing outward, the wallet's magnets stick to the back of the phone pretty well.

It is possible you presumed it just like I did initially. If that's the case, if you open up the stand, and squeeze the cards between the base that attached to your phone and the folding stand part, it just goes in. It's hard to see that part exists until you read the instructions.
But if got a different product totally altogether, I'm sorry.

the box clearly said phone stand only, no wallet, contacted them but still no reply
