Wow, this is a great price if you're looking for a cheaper entry into Peloton. I did all the research last year and put together what you need to do after buying this bike. Reposting it here:
Required items you'll need:
Echelon bike[walmart.com] Peloton app[onepeloton.com]
Peloton subscription (Note, if you have a friend who has a bike subscription you can ask if they'll create an account for you instead to save some money)
Two streaming devices
One to connect to the Echelon app[echelonfit.com] to display your statistics, usually a phone
One to connect to the Peloton app to display the classes, usually a tablet
Optional add-ons to improve the experience
Wahoo cadence sensor[amazon.com] - iOS support only - this attaches to your bike's gearshaft and can be connected to the Peloton app to integrate your cadence. You'll already be getting cadence information from the Echelon app on your phone, but if you want it to display in the Peloton app, you'll need this too.
Polar Verity heart rate sensor[amazon.com] - this wraps around your arm and can provide heart rate data to the Peloton app. Instructors will mention heart rate zones to target in advanced classes, so if you want to be able to follow along you'll need this, but it's not required. You will also get more accurate calorie burn counts with your heart rate being measured.
Note: If you are an iOS user and have an Apple Watch, you have a couple options instead of buying a sensor.
Use Peloton app on your iPhone. If you use your iPhone for displaying the class, it will have direct access to your heart rate from your Apple Watch.
Download HeartCast[apple.com] which allows your Apple Watch to broadcast heart rate over bluetooth. You can pair this with your iPad/Android tablet.
Bicycle mat[amazon.com] - The official Echelon mat is 27"x47", so this should fit underneath it to catch your sweat and protect your carpet/hardwood floor. 1-3lb dumbbells[amazon.com] - In some classes, the instructor will tell you to do some lifts, so you'll need a set of light weights Peloton to Echelon resistance chart[etsy.com] - The instructor will call out numbers to change your bicycle resistance during the class, but the Echelon uses a different scale so you can print this out or buy one to have as a handy reference. Gel bicycle seat cover[amazon.com] - If you are gonna be spinning for a long time, the gel will help ease any pain you have in your backside
To get the baseline experience done, you'll need to setup your Echelon bike as described in the manual. After physical setup is complete, download the Echelon app to your phone, and then plug in your bike and start the pairing process.
Next, if you bought either of the optional sensors you'll need to pair them with their various ipad/android tablet apps to update their firmware.
Once paired, to get your Echelon app into freestyle mode to display your statistics, go to the bottom right of the app, select "More", then "Freestyle Ride".
Finally, you will then be able to load the Peloton app on your tablet, select a class, and start going.
At least with the Sport here, someone has written a third party app to handle resistance and stat calculation, so if you hate Echelon's app, there is an alternative:
Experience the pinnacle of connected fitness from the comfort of home with the Echelon Sport Connected Bike. Equipped with a variety of adjustable features and cutting-edge technology, this bike can adapt to every person and fitness goal. Made to work in tandem with the EchelonFit app, the Echelon Sport Bike leverages Bluetooth® technology to monitor your performance and track your progress so you can fine-tune your workouts as needed. Once connected with the app, you gain access to thousands of on-demand cycling classes ranging in length and intensity. The Echelon Sport bike also features 32 manual resistance levels, enabling people of all fitness levels to cycle toward their fitness goals at their own pace. Designed with form in mind, this bike also features fully padded, ergonomic handlebars to comfortably support upper-body alignment when transitioning between intensity levels. Whether aiming to de-stress, increase endurance or anything in-between, the Echelon Sport Connected Bike can help anyone reach their goals without breaking the bank.
How does this deal compare to the Echelon EX-4S Connect Bike which is on sale at Costco right now? It's a lot more expensive at $799 after $300 OFF, but it does have 10.1" Integrated HD Touch Screen and perhaps other advantages over the basic model.
lol.. its a very good deal but no, you dont want to deal with having to lug/ship this back because of your indecision. so decide now, do you need another heavy-duty coat hanger?
Lol, that's what I did. I was imagining how hard it would be to return this... well, my fiance's uncle has a van at least. I figure I had time on the deal but didn't want it to sell out.

Good bike!
My complaint is that you can't move the seat forward or backward. My wife who is 5'3" says the seat is too far from the handlebars for her to be completely comfortable.
Well that's discouraging.... I'm 5'10" but my fiance is 5'2". I also prefer to be scooted all the way forward.

only "issue" with this bike is the resistance is manually controlled. prolly not a biggie as i dont know which class requires you to constantly change resistance.
Got this in 2020. Wife is a spin instructor and uses this 60-90 per day 7 days a week along with the Peleton app. Smooth, solid and very quiet. Can't go wrong.
Pretty good bike. Quick question, are there any non-Amazon seats anybody would recommend. The stock seat is hard and hurts. Tried adjusting it, and it didn't make much if any difference. Tried a seat at Amazon, and it was crap. So trying to avoid Amazon stuff.
Looks like a good investment for lower body fitness, not upper body.
The only disadvantage is the handle only goes up and down, not front and back. For those that are very short or tall, it may be uncomfortable.
Also, your "b u t t" will thank replacing the seat with a more comfortable bike seat.
Is the $12.99/month Peloton subscription good for this bike instead of the more expensive $39.99/month from Echelon? Any current users, please chime in.
I have been using this bike + the $12.99/month Peloton subscription for over a year and I've been loving it and never thought to consider buying the Peloton bike, even after trying out the Peloton bike. Granted, the $12.99/month Peloton subscription doesn't give you any access to their metrics and no access to leaderboard to compete, but I only take on demand/pre-recorded classes so those are not really useful for me anyway (their live classes are all on New York time, and my time zone is PST). I just can't justify paying $1,500.00 for a stationary bike and then $39.99/month for the membership.
