Wow, this is a great price if you're looking for a cheaper entry into Peloton. I did all the research last year and put together what you need to do after buying this bike. Reposting it here:
Required items you'll need:
Echelon bike[walmart.com] Peloton app[onepeloton.com]
Peloton subscription (Note, if you have a friend who has a bike subscription you can ask if they'll create an account for you instead to save some money)
Two streaming devices
One to connect to the Echelon app[echelonfit.com] to display your statistics, usually a phone
One to connect to the Peloton app to display the classes, usually a tablet
Optional add-ons to improve the experience
Wahoo cadence sensor[amazon.com] - iOS support only - this attaches to your bike's gearshaft and can be connected to the Peloton app to integrate your cadence. You'll already be getting cadence information from the Echelon app on your phone, but if you want it to display in the Peloton app, you'll need this too.
Polar Verity heart rate sensor[amazon.com] - this wraps around your arm and can provide heart rate data to the Peloton app. Instructors will mention heart rate zones to target in advanced classes, so if you want to be able to follow along you'll need this, but it's not required. You will also get more accurate calorie burn counts with your heart rate being measured.
Note: If you are an iOS user and have an Apple Watch, you have a couple options instead of buying a sensor.
Use Peloton app on your iPhone. If you use your iPhone for displaying the class, it will have direct access to your heart rate from your Apple Watch.
Download HeartCast[apple.com] which allows your Apple Watch to broadcast heart rate over bluetooth. You can pair this with your iPad/Android tablet.
Bicycle mat[amazon.com] - The official Echelon mat is 27"x47", so this should fit underneath it to catch your sweat and protect your carpet/hardwood floor. 1-3lb dumbbells[amazon.com] - In some classes, the instructor will tell you to do some lifts, so you'll need a set of light weights Peloton to Echelon resistance chart[etsy.com] - The instructor will call out numbers to change your bicycle resistance during the class, but the Echelon uses a different scale so you can print this out or buy one to have as a handy reference. Gel bicycle seat cover[amazon.com] - If you are gonna be spinning for a long time, the gel will help ease any pain you have in your backside
To get the baseline experience done, you'll need to setup your Echelon bike as described in the manual. After physical setup is complete, download the Echelon app to your phone, and then plug in your bike and start the pairing process.
Next, if you bought either of the optional sensors you'll need to pair them with their various ipad/android tablet apps to update their firmware.
Once paired, to get your Echelon app into freestyle mode to display your statistics, go to the bottom right of the app, select "More", then "Freestyle Ride".
Finally, you will then be able to load the Peloton app on your tablet, select a class, and start going.
At least with the Sport here, someone has written a third party app to handle resistance and stat calculation, so if you hate Echelon's app, there is an alternative:
This bike still worth it if not planning to hook up with an app for live classes? Are there free videos or youtube that you can bike along to? Just don't want to sign up for yet another subscription.
You can still use the bluetooth features to track speed, etc, even if you don't have an app. There are a lot of free workouts on Youtube too.

How does this deal compare to the Echelon EX-4S Connect Bike which is on sale at Costco right now? It's a lot more expensive at $799 after $300 OFF, but it does have 10.1" Integrated HD Touch Screen and perhaps other advantages over the basic model.
Costco Ex4s has a tablet screen and 1 year subscription, this one doesn't and only 90 days. The flywheel is also slightly different, and Ex4s seems to has nicer flywheel and nicer resistance knob. Connect Sport supposedly also has magnetic resistance, but it's indexing instead of digital. No idea what any of that means tbh outside of Connect Sport needs to turn the knob way more to adjust the resistance. But for sure Ex4s has the nicer version of it.
I think after researching for a bit, I would stay away from Echelon. Their warranty alone screams all kinds of trouble. 1 year limited warranty which seems really short compared to other competitors around this price range (Schwinn/Bowflex for example has Frame: 10 years / Mechanical & Electrical: 3 years / Labor: 1 year).
You may consider this deal if you are on a budget but really wants Peloton for some reason , but I think that's about it. Which, to be fair, this bike seems pretty okay value for 350. But if you are looking to spend around 800 for a bike, maybe look into another brand.

Sport and Fitness is 5%... another slickdealer said no because it was "health" but I would think this would be in the Sport and Fitness category, no? I'm giving it a go.
If this bike is like the EX4S from Costco and you have no internet, this back is useless. Every time you start the bike, it must connect to the internet or you cannot adjust the resistance of the bike.
If Echelon ever gone out of business or their server is down, your bike will become a furniture. Or someone in the future decided your bike can no longer check in to their server, you are out of luck.
Can someone confirm this? Do you really have to connect to the Internet just to adjust resistance, and furthermore do you need to even pay for a subscription to adjust resistance? I don't care about any of these peloton or echelon "classes" I just want a nice functional stationary bike that is quiet and reliable and does not require internet tethering just to use ordinary features.

This is incorrect, this bikes uses Magetic Resistance.
Hi, do any of the bike + app combination give you the experience of an instructor yelling at you when you fall behind, that's the only thing I like about the Peloton package.
Oh and how is this bike different from the EX-3 ? I tried to look up this bike fro Echelon's website, and can't quite find it

Honestly, get a folding projector stand and put a tablet holder on top of it. This keeps your tablet away from your dripping sweat and you can put your phone and whatever else up there as well. I used to have my tablet mounted to the handlebars but switched and a projector stand like this is 1000x better:

Thanks! Actually, was just reading some horror stories of the the ipad clamp coming loose from the bike and the ipad hitting the floor. Just got a tripod mount ipad holder. I have a bunch of camera/video tripods laying around so i will just use put it front of the bike.
