This is an excellent deal for a best in class right angle impact. For many DIYers you may not need anything more than this for the vast majority of jobs like removing tires and doing breaks etc... Anyways, I bought one as I've been in the market for one of these for quite a while.

Been eyeballing this for a month. Have bought two ratchets, both stubby impacts and a slew of batteries. This was the one that doesn't go on sale.

You can buy a $20 off $200 coupon for $3 that gets this down to $189 before tax.
Thanks for the heads up. I ended up ordering a coupon for $2.50 and applied it without issue. For less than $190, this was a no-brainer and one hell of a deal!

With all the folks canceling their $189 stubby deal is there any chance it'll be back in stock today, however briefly? Or is HD's online inventory system not that real-time? I just found out about this deal but I still prefer the stubby. Better batteries and seems more useful for my needs.

And given the length of this tool, are there situations where ironically it can't fit?
its possible
i always leave the page open. if its a tool i wanted, I refresh it throughout the day

I recommend the Kobalt 24 volt Right Angle Impact Wrench. I have it and works better than the specifications listed on the tool. The Torque Test Channel will backup what I am saying.
I agree i got the kobalt 1 too myself and i use to have the m12 1. M12 isnt bad but i like the kobalt 1 more.

edit: obviously for a lot of ppl the m12 is going to be the choice because of battery platform but for me im mainly dewalt and also i have now worked my way out of the m12 platform completely. need dewalt to make one of these or even makita

220 ft lbs of torque but can I use this to loosen nuts/bolts? Or should I stick with he stubby 3/8 impact wrench of 250 ft lbs?

Edit
Damn thought this was a ratchet lol
I think I will get this and cancel stubby then?

Edit
Why this come with 2ah batt while the stubby 3/8 has 3 and 6ah?

Edit
Ordered this as well then and decide later lol
You should own this and also the stubby impact and also the fuel ratchet. They are all awesome tools and have different uses.

Can I use this in lieu of a regular cordless ratchet or is it going to be over kill? Seems to have an auto shut off at 15ft/lbs of torque.

Here's that thread:

But the $189 stubby + accessories is now OOS. As for the 3/8 vs. 1/2, I think it's the exact same base tool just with different anvil sizes. I wonder why they don't make a version with interchangeable anvils. Of course you can get the same basic functionality albeit with a slight loss of torque with an adapter. If so, I wonder which loses you more torque, a 1/2" wrench with a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter, or a 3/8" wrench with a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter?
Adapters or not, the torque will be the same...the "real" impacting anvil is the same on both tools, after which point whichever tool has a slight advantage in the combined head+socked+adapter (if any) weight, will have a slightly more ... impactful impact, thus slightly more break-out torque.

I don't think that for the torque ratings possible with the M12 tools, any short of realistic adapter or extension - other than purpose built torque sticks - will offer a meaningful penalty (or advantage) in applied torque.

Buying the "wrong" size, i.e. the one you don't have sockets for and you need adapters, will negate some of the form-factor advantage: why get the "stubbiest" tool possible only to "lengthen it" an inch or so with the adapter or using deep sockets and whatnot? Sure, works @ a pinch, but if what you need is a "short" tool, then match it with the shortest socket you realistically can.

Makes sense. I have both deep and shallow 1/2" sockets and shallow 3/8" impact sockets and a 1/2" mid-torquish impact so I'm getting the 3/8" impact. I was just wondering if there was a bigger torque loss using the occasional adapter to use my 1/2" deep impact sockets or when I need a bigger sized shallow impact socket that I only have in 1/2" and don't use often enough to justify buying it in 3/8" form outright, than going the other way from a 1/2" impact.

But since I already have a 1/2" impact I'll probably very rarely need to do this. The only exception I can think of is a 21mm socket for lug nuts, as my Tekton 3/8" socket set only goes up to 19mm. But I can splurge and buy a 3/8" 21mm socket, or just use an adapter with one of my 1/2" 21mm sockets. Yeah, I'm overthinking this. ;-)

On a side note, I'm seriously considering jumping on this deal for the 3/8" Stubby + OG Fuel Ratchet:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../313112375

Factoring in a 20 off 200 coupon, this seems like a really nice price for the two ($217.50 for two compared to recent stubby deal would put the ratchet at $87.50).

Edit: Screw it I bit on this deal too. It was $215 before tax + $2.50 for a coupon. Between the impact ratchet, stubby, and fuel ratchet, I'd like to think I'm pretty set on a solid automotive and wrenching set of tools now. I'm pretty sure this is an all-time low for the fuel ratchet. Super stoked!

I bought this when it was a preorder. I use it way more than the ⅜ stubby. Jump on this. I have never seen it on sale. I'm retired. Was a mechanic for 11 years when I was younger. Still a hobby. This is a great tool.
