Not a good deal. They've been much less than this.
one time special from Amazon if you order through Alexa(limit one I think model KP115 ). That doesn't count as the cheapest.

Just a warning, that status light on the side may not be ideal for the bedroom or a dark environment. It looks very similar to the HS103 model which I have and I found it to be too bright to keep in the bedroom. And you cannot turn it off the status light.

Just an FYI.

EDIT: I have used black electrical tape in the past to fix this until my cat pulled it off

These are great. Bought a whole bunch from Best Buy a few weeks back when they were $13.99. Been using them to monitor my devices' energy use since our electricity bill is suspiciously high. I only wish their energy monitoring on the Kasa App showed aggregate data, or that I could hook it up through IFTTT to chart it in a spreadsheet. Currently, you can only check data for each device individually, which is a bit of a pain.

Took advantage of that Amazon deal, too, since that was a steal but it was single-use only, unfortunately.

I've been able to use this even on our portable front-loaded dryer, which maxes out a teeny bit above this device's max wattage (which, at 1800W, the tracker has reported up to 1808W during high-temp use). I rarely use the high-temp mode but it didn't fry when I did use it.

So far, I have yet to find anything that would be too much for this (dishwasher, washing machine, fridges, AC unit, fan, dryer, etc). But for large appliances like those, I make sure it's the only thing plugged into the device.

The Ratings listed are:

100- 120V~ 60Hz
Max Load: 15A 1800W (General Use/Resistive Load)
UL 1.0

Requires a bit of technical knowledge, but someone reverse engineered the communication protocol to the devices, and you can actually disable the LED indicator: https://github.com/softScheck/tplink-smartplug
I just verified that it works on my KP115 using the command: ./tplink_smartplug.py -t <device_ip_address> -c ledoff

Now I'll have to look into whether there's something in Hubitat to expose that ability.

For community's reference, I think KP125 is just a store specific version of KP115. They have almost the same product page from official site and lists everything the same except direct link to reseller.

The main difference is the native support for HomeKit on the KP125 which if you're already using HomeKit, this model makes more sense.

As a warning: getting these set up with HomeKit is a massive pain. I've set up over a dozen KP115 plugs (and whatever the larger predecessor was) with minimal issues. However, after struggling with never ending "Accessory Not Found" errors in both the Kasa and Home apps on my mother-in-law's iPhone 7, I gave up and returned this plug for a refund. You can't just connect to the plug's local wifi signal like with the KP115 and set it up, you are forced to go through the HomeKit setup process, which is obtuse to the point of madness.

Why do people keep saying this isn't a good deal? Are you comparing the non-HomeKit version to this HomeKit version? If so then yes, it's a terrible deal. But for a HomeKit smart plug it's a decent deal. All HomeKit accessories are usually more expensive as they have to go through apple's certification process, adding time and engineering that gets placed on the price of the unit.
