I still love jumping on TF2 every now and then. Too bad there's so many bots out there and Valve doesn't seem to care to stop them.
Try the skial servers for bot-free TF2 play.
To anyone reading this, Orange Box contains Portal, which is a fantastic, kid-friendly puzzle game. A true 10/10. You can buy Portal ala carte for $2. Portal 2 the 10/10 sequel is also $2.
Question to all - why is this only on steam and not Switch or Playstation digital?
These game engines are like 20 years old, and written for x86. No doubt they could be recompiled, but the market is probably not that big to be worth the hassle
Factoid - no physical disc version of Orange Box exists. The boxed/disc version just included the Steam client and a steam key for the Orange Box. So that's all you can get on eBay... the box!
Lol, that makes sense. I got the box a few days ago but haven't gotten around to installing the games. Looks like a pair of PC DVD-ROMs, marked like it too, but I just plopped Disc 1 into my PC and looked at the directory....
Setup.exe uses a Steam icon
The installer is SteamInstall.msi
Guess I got suckered in. All because I've never played Portal and thought that this physical copy WAS the game, ported to PC. Oh well, at least I didn't pay $60 thirteen years ago for it.

I get it. I wanted Orange Box before this sale and I went on eBay and almost did what you did until I researched it a little and found out...
This is a great deal as these are some great games. I think I paid $20 for it years ago, but I got a physical edition and I still have the box all these years later

AFAIK, most of the Half-Life/Portal games have been updated to newer versions of source with native X86-64 support, and support for some newer processor extensions.
Anyone more technically knowledgeable on Source/Source 2, please feel free to enlighten me as to the details, or where I'm incorrect.
Yes, these games work on Windows 10. Can confirm.
Windows 11 should be fine too as long as your other system drivers/devices are fully supported by 11.
Even SourceGold engine'd Half-Life 1 and expansions work well on Win10 with newest CPUs.

Mods make the games shine. Thankfully the engine has been multithreaded about a year after release, so modern CPUs do extremely well. Only uses 2 1/2 cores at best, even at insane refresh rates.

The original engine is horribly inefficient. Day of Defeat gets plenty of drops below 60fps with a full server, and this is with a 4Ghz all-core Ryzen 2700, 32GB 3200mhz and a Radeon 590 8GB OC.
I would play it on a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz with a Radeon X850 at full 60fps. When they made it all Linux compatible they really messed performance up.
They are the OGs of slacking… Think I read somewhere that GRRM is trying to beat them by taking longer to write his next book than they are taking to release the next HL game…

I had already purchased the Valve Complete Pack a few years ago, which is why I already had the first four titles in the Orange Box collection... but it was still trying to charge me $3.99 to purchase the Orange Box (because I didn't have TF2).
But I clicked on this one, and... it looks like it's allowing me to 're-buy' the Complete Pack (for $0.00)... weird.
