I like Hue too but my lone complaint is lack of brightness with these bulbs. Hence why these are on sale everywhere when the 100w version is due for availability soon…

I think the 100w white bulb is already out there. Are you saying there will be a 100w/1600 lumen color bulb coming soon?

The most expensive thing you can do is put off switching to Hue.

I do think the market is getting better, but even if you think you know what you're doing getting into it for the first time you don't realize how many mistakes you're going to make and how easy Using Phillips hue makes it .

I'll never forget reading a comment where some guy said, "My biggest smart home regret is that I kept thinking Hue wasn't worth it,"

I have the 1600 lumen non-ambiance white that released first, it's really nice.

Honestly at night, the 1600 is nearly too bright in my living room while watching TV

If you're looking for a hub, Amazon has the hub plus two white bulbs for $70 which seems like a decent deal (assuming you have a need for the white bulbs too). The bridge alone is $60, so for $10 more you get two white bulbs.

Looks like the bulb color is soft white.

It's the other way around.

A is the shape of the bulb. The number that follows is the diameter in 1/8 of an inch
A19 = 19 * 1/8" = 2.375" Dia.
A21 = 21 * 1/8" = 2.625" Dia.

A19 vs A21: Same shape, but the A21 bulb is physically larger in diameter and length.

E is the type of socket. The number that follows that is the diameter of the thread.
E26 = Edison Screw, 26mm dia.

This. Or, you can pick up a EUC hub for around $35 on used marketplaces.
