Be advised that it's only rated for USB 2.0.

Just adding to your observation for the people who need it that this has nothing to do with charging speed, only data transfer. There are both data and power lines in these cables. With 5a cables they typically will put smaller data lines to make the cables thinner since most people use them for charging. But cables with both 5a power lines and USB 3.1/2 Gen 2 data lines exsist all over the place if you need them.

No. Apple has done this. Their pro thunderbolt cable is practically art(not generally an apple fan). And you can also grab fiber optic cables. They essentially make the length mostly irrelevant.

Edit: it should also be noted that this is referring to thunderbolt. If you're hooking up an external gpu or a dock that will run 4k montitors or other extremely high bandwidth situations and you need a cable that's longer than 3 feet than yes, you'll need to shell out for the Apple pro thunderbolt cable. But for something like a Gen 2 external ssd where you're just wanting max transfer speed any USB-If certified 3.1/2 Gen 2 cable even at 10 feet will work just fine.
I have the iVANKY 6.6ft from Amazon. Goes for $16. My Razer Core X with a 1080ti works just fine on it. GPU benchmarks are identical to the short thunderbolt cable that comes with the Core X.

Is it true that USB 3.1 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt cable that has high transfer rate can't be this long (10 ft)?
Pretty much any 10 ft cable can't have high transfer rate?
As a passive cable especially for TB3/4 anything over even a meter becomes problematic. I think max length for passive TB cable to maintain full 40Gbs speed is 0.8 meters.

Generally speaking this is wholly incorrect. I can't speak to your specific cable which may be made of gold and super insulated, but vast majority of cables lose amperage by length. 1M cables are slower than 2M which are slower than 3M.

The drop off may only be a few watts per meter but this is why apple only gives you a 3' (not even 1M) cable with their ipads. The same principle is true for maximum data transfer.

Bottom line to anyone reading this: If you need 10' then you buy 10'. Charging your phone while in bed or on the couch or whatnot.
It's not amperage lost. So your comment is also incorrect. It's voltage drop as what's the loss when wire gauge is insufficient compared to cable length

I was researching this the other day and it turns out Cable Matters was actually able to eek out 1m certified TB4 cable: https://www.cablematters.com/pc-1...rging.aspx

However, thankfullytheir active TB4 option [cablematters.com], at 2m, seems to only differ in cost, and they don't have any of the extra bulky housings/midpoint junctions of past active USB cables (the thickness of the cable and the end connectors look roughly comparable to the passive ones).

Got mine and it doesnt charge my laptop as fast as the cord it came with (hwuawei matebook). Same with my phone (oneplus 7t). Its similar to other usb c cords Ive got off amazon. Still looking for a longer cable for my laptop that actually charges like the original cable.

Anker makes some pretty good stuff! How often do u see 5 stars (4.8 rounded up) on an Amazon product with a significant number of reviewers?? Not very often!!
