Power supply is actually 180w. So enough to run a low end GPU but yes would be better off upgrading that as well for any GPU upgrade. (along with a 24pin to 4+4 pin power adapter).

I have been looking for a 24pin to 4+4 for a couple months now. Do you know where I might find one?

5700G - $280 as of writing this on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/29431571...SwYhNhf3xq [ebay.com]
32GB of DDR4 Ram ~$100: https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32...klink=true [newegg.com]
PSU $35
Budget Cast ~$30-$40
512GB NVME SSD - $50
A520 motherboard with HDMI 2.1 $50: https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-A52...OTHERBOARD [amazon.com]

So about $550.

There is literally an empty slot for a mid to high range gpu, just don't expect to get full utilization for something high end like the 3000 series that cost me my liver.

OS is include, Windows 10 home, I have the very same one I bought this back when it was on sale for $450 ( Actually cost me 400+tax when I used my staples rewards I had). If you have any questions just ask I also have the ryzen 5 version of this on a small form factor.

Also correction: this does come with a 16 gb ram but it is a single stick, best to buy a 8x2 stick to make use of the dual channel, and just keep the extra 16gb stick for a spare.

does this still have proprietary motherboard / power supply?
Yes But it is more than enough, If you plan on getting a mid to high end gpu best replace it with a 550-600w psu, if you're not planning on using a dedicated gpu the psu runs it just fine even with max cpu usage.

A computer with 5600g isn't going to be that much cheaper and the 5300g is going to blow chunks compared to this. Anything intel offers with onboard graphics is going to be even worse. Normally I would agree with you but the GPU market is not going to cool of until 2023 at the earliest and when AMD releases an RDNA2 APU you can bet its going to be pretty expensive.
This, I bought this as a spare productivity/ gaming pc. This runs the newest game even at 1080p albeit 30fps, But beggars can't be choosers, Also I haven't compared this but I'm pretty sure this runs faster/better than the ryzen 5 5600x the one without an integrated gpu. It is insane how I can't even get my hands on an rx580 without a big hole on my wallet.

My build has superior parts. Double the ram (at 3600mhz cl18) and double the storage. You seemed to have missed that. You can add a pcie Bluetooth and Wi-Fi card and keyboard board if you go with 16gb of ram and 256gb of storage (skip the optical drive) and you would spend less money than this HP deal.
Just to tell you I don't know if it was just me but mine ( from staples) came with a basic mouse and keyboard, nothing fancy. This also has bluetooth and is wi-fi capable.

Solid deal, building takes time, parts aren't always available. Convenience of not needing to shop different sites for parts makes this a good deal for someone needing a desktop for internet surfing and word processing. I get we can all "build" cheaper but not everyone knows how.

I think you should re read what I wrote. I was not talking about the computer for sale at staples but if you wanted to build your own.

Why wouldn't you add another 16 gb for dual channel? Should cost you around the same and give you double the memory

It comes with a heatsink thats better than the HP one and you can buy a legit Windows 10 Pro key for < $20. Nice try though. LMAO

Because the ram it came with is garbage and nobody wants to mix and match rams. You are better off buying 2 8gb rams at 3200 than trying to mix and match a good ram with a terrible ram. I looked up the same ram when I replaced it and that would have cost me $90+ on ebay since it couldn't be found anywhere else. Most people wouldn't really need anything over 16gb. But to be short this isn't a good deal at $569.99, at 449 it's a deal (several months back) at the time I bought this same exact model.

I just built one of these with a 5600G CPU on my YouTube channel which can take a GPU, has RGB and is much better for under $500. You can match this 5700G for about the same price and get a Windows 10 OEM key at places for $10 more. Not a great deal, but the CPU is good for basic gaming as I show in the video.
