Got an email from PayPal saying $10 had been loaded into my account and expires December 31. Wanted to share to help others maybe keep an eye out for a similar email; included a pic of what I received for reference. Might be YMMV so I tagged that in the title, not sure.

UPDATE: Successfully used this on Samsung's website for a 128 GB MicroSDXC card they have on sale for "Cyber Week"

UPDATE #2: Looks like people are getting this on dormant/infrequently used accounts so check those if you don't see it on your primary/active one.

It came from actual PayPal not a scam email, see pic.

Just don't click any links especially if you think the sender email is spoofed. Check your PayPal account by logging into it in a new tab and see if this is present under offers.

Agreed. Gmail SPAM is very good IMO but yes solid advice. Above your post I pasted the screenshot of showing this is indeed from PayPal directly.

Not saying it is or isn't real. But that can be faked.

The email is valid. Here's a really long thread about it. Believe me I figured it was fake as well. https://www.dslreports.com/forum/...-com-legit

I sent to [email protected] to see/confirm as well. Will be interesting if it turns out PayPal is hacked somehow...

Edit: I'll update the post when I hear back from PayPal. Doesn't sound like anyone else got this yet.

Paypal uses "mail.paypal.com" and "[email protected]" for customer notifications so could be real.

My account statements and legal docs come from "mail.paypal.com" while any purchases or deals come from "paypal.com".

I can confirm that this is real, I logged into my paypal account and saw the deal in the wallet section.

My question would be if this would work with "paypal key" (paypal's virtual credit card), this would allow you to basically use the reward with any site instead of only the ones with paypal checkout if it does work.

I think it's from the Paypal holiday sweepstakes. You are automatically entered in the draw if you purchased anything via PayPal the previous week. Draws are done on Sundays

That's awesome. It took a while to appear in my PayPal Wallet but I've updated the original post with a picture.

Received on a dormant account that hasn't been used for several years. While logged in, also redeemed an offer for free $5 deposit. Bought something < $15 from ebay for free!

Got this as well, on a paypal account I haven't used in years and never got around to linking my credit card. I'm guessing it's targeting those folks with paypal account that haven't been used in quite a while.
