Looks like the diameter is 5 mm smaller than standard. Could be a problem if you mix with other weights then drop them - your other weights will take more load.

True if you're looking for iron plate sets but for bumpers, prices are pretty good

Anyone know what bumper plates would contain that would warrant having a "Warning - California Proposition 65
Warning: This product contains chemicals known to the State Of California to acuase cancer and birth defects or other reporoductive harm" ?

Thank you. Picked up 45, 25, and 10s. Been waiting on a good price, and this definitely fits that bill. Just hoping the description and title mismatch on the 45s isn't a problem. I've had a bit of a headache with Walmart online orders before.

That bar is trash from all I've seen.
I keep hearing people say that about the Fitness Gear one as well, which I own and have zero problems with. I think there may be a few bar snobs out there with some elite-level gripes. But for a novice like myself benching 215 and deadlifting 275, I have no complaints so far. I'll have to re-visit this once I'm deadlifting 600+ and give an update laugh out loud

These seem to be better quality than the everyday essentials bumper plates (the collar is embedded in the rubber), but the fact that they are slightly smaller than standard kills it for me. I really want to order these, but I'll stick with the everyday essentials plates since I want to be able to use these with iron plates without crashing into the ground as much.
I think standard iron 45's are going to crash pretty hard with any bumpers. We're talking about a 1/10" difference on top and bottom between 450mm and 445mm. The rubber will almost immediately deflect that much with moderate force. This is one advantage of the Fitness Gear standard 45's having a smaller diameter.

Do I need bumpers if I don't do olympic lifts or drop my deadlifts?
No, they're not necessary, but they do reduce noise even on standard deadlifts in case you have anyone complaining about noise in the house.

The difference is actually closer to 1/4" (17.5" vs 17.75"), so if you're trying to drop carefully that does make a difference. I have no doubt they'll still hit sometimes, but more of the initial shock will be absorbed by the bumpers... Which is all I can ask for.

And yes, smaller 45s are nice for this.

5mm is .197". You need to divide that by 2 because half of it is on the top and the other half is on the bottom where it will contact the floor. We're talking about a little less than 1/10" where it counts. I just don't see that doing much of anything, but I don't have direct experience with this.

Nice! These will go perfect with my new open-style hex/trap bar from Walmart (everyday essentials brand for $145.98-- way cheaper than others)

Good price, two things to consider though with bumper plates:

1. Rubber smell
2. Size, iron plates have smaller circumference than bumpers. This could be an issue if using plate holders on a smaller depth squat rack

Best Buy has the 45 lbs slightly cheaper with free shipping and without having to buy a pair. They have single plates of the 45 and 55, but I think those are more expensive than Walmart right now.

Pair of 45 LB bumper plates DELIVERED! To those that bought the 45 lb pair bumper plates and was confused and unsure if it was a mistake with the 25 lb bumpers. All is well and looks perfect! Box was a beat up, but the bumpers were fine.

Put your mind at ease. From OP.

Nice find, but the 45 lb are out. The 35 and 55 are still good for individual ones.
