SiriusXM is offering 3-year and 5-year deals for inactive radios, though I'm not sure of the exact details of which radios qualify. Streaming is included in the plans. The plan is the "XM Music & Entertainment" plan.
The 3-year deal is for $99, while the 5-year deal is $149. Each gets the 21.4% royalty fee plus local sales taxes added. Neither plan automatically renews.
This offer came in the mail. It listed my radio ID and an account #, which I plugged in to

Turn on the radio and tune to channel 1. It will show you the radio ID number.
This isn't true. I got a flyer in the mail from Sirius XM for my 2012 Accord after I activated the free trial thing. Didn't get one for my 2017 Subaru though.
Does this mean the rate doesn't renew or the service doesn't renew?
The one reason I've never subscribed is the horror stories in trying to cancel vs. streaming services where you can just push a button and done. So could you pay for this w/ say, a burner Visa GC, and just let the 3 years run out or will they just send me endless bills with late fees?
Log on to your SiriusXM account and check the status for the inactive radio in your X5.
I just tried dealing with chat support, no luck. And they said I started a trial on 11/19, which never happened and didn't work yesterday when I was driving the vehicle.

I would call and get another person. Ask for the department that handles retaining customers. I fortunately don't drive anywhere that doesn't have Verizon cell service and I have Android Auto. This allows Sirius/XM to show on my car display, eliminating the need to physically touch the phone. With the Fusion, it doesn't show on the screen though.

Seems dead
Since they keep adding things to the base plan that I used to pay extra for, I've been able to downgrade to the less expensive plans and the annual promo prices. Not too bad.

The thing is the "Royalty Fees" were included in the subscription fees. They decided to make more money by "separating the fee" kind of like the rip off "resort fees" at hotels.
