Good price but it's better to get a container that can fit the actual food bag in it so bacteria doesn't grow along the inner walls of the container.
The 60lb is $25.18 on Amazon via Petco. Petco also has it on their website but free shipping is $35+. Chewy also has it available (Free Shipping $49+)

ordered and cancelled the next day when walking into costco found the 40lb for 19.99... Also, lasts about 20ish years in the sun/weather before UV/outdoor damage has completely destroyed it...good value

Of course you didn't see a sign as most of the nasty bacteria has no smell or visible signs. People wouldn't accidentally eat lettuce contaminated with e coli or salmonella if it was visible smelly and obvious!!!

That said, pets need probiotics too so you are likely strengthening your local flora LOL

so, in the end, a non-issue.

Just store dog and cat food. That's what it's meant to do and it does a good job. No complaints.

Just got this and the quality is excellent. Seal is nice and tight and solid feel, not cheap and flimsy. Thanks for this great deal.

FYI: the Costco near me had a 40lb version for $20.99 so perhaps the edge goes to Amazon here, unless you really need the extra 5lbs(?).

Good luck!

Nice. Don't think I have that at my local warehouse.

I store my rice in food safe 5 gallon buckets that I got from Wally mart for $5 including the lid.

I just take the plastic bag that the rice came in and put it all in the bucket. The bag stores it, the bucket protects it and seals it.

In fact, I store cat food in a couple containers. Deer corn in another 2. And finally kitty litter in yet another. I have 3 buckets unused waiting for their first assignment. They stack really nicely and are cheap.
Do you have a link for the $5 Walmart bucket? I can't find it on their site.

Anyone reading this that has cats, just use the plastic bucket you get 35lbs of cat litter in, like tidy cats or similar. One 35lb bucket holds a 16lb bag of cat food perfectly, need 2 buckets for larger bags. Obviously do wash out and dry the bucket before putting food in it. Those litter buckets also work great for other things. I use them for yard work stuff, store bird seed, etc. Don't even need to buy 5 gallon buckets ever again, I believe these are approximately 4 gallons. I've got 10 in the corner of the yard. I give them away to neighbors.

These dont work well for my family. 1)If you close the lid too tight, you can stretch out the seal. The seal will then fall off and get damaged. 2) second one purchased was made out of a thinner material that broke down much quicker. 3)mold growth on inside of container due simply to the product sweating in the sun 4) when closed tightly, very hard to open. (Almost impossible for some)

Sounds like you are over-tightening the lid?
Sorry for the late late reply. Haven't logged on in a while. You would think it was me Hulking it, but my 8-year-old is the one that feeds the cats . . . maybe She-Hulk? LOL! Cheap plastic!
