Yes, it turns out that they did not cease making blu ray discs when you got rid of yours.

Only 1 of Firefly due to the incompetence of Fox broadcasting executives sabotaging the show release and production interference because they knew better. I saw the premeire and then didn't watch it again until after it was cancelled because that first episode was out of order and I didn't know who anybody was. I thought they were going for an old sci fi novel style like some of the older late 50's books I read that had a similar style that I didn't care for where they throw you in and you figure stuff out later.

Nope they just decided to broadcast episodes out of order because that one had more action.

bought one when the price was slightly higher and it arrived with a bad bend in the spine; automated process wouldn't let me replace so i refunded and ordered another, le sigh.

great deal though, op! sad there's no more digital codes, but what're you gonna do..other than support physical media

i saw someone else explain it better elsewhere, but, the gist is supposedly that whenever you redeem a code, the studio actually gets charged (some non-zero amount) for it, so if they just actually made all the codes expire when they say (rather than being able to use them sometimes for years afterwards), they can "save" money that way. or, just not include them in the first place.

blah blah you could rip your own and make a plex server, but i'm way too lazy (and have way too many movies now) to do that lol

They should've just quit making Rick and Morty without Roiland. Creepazoid or not, he was the show.

Couldn't agree more, the new voices are extremely irritating in the wrong ways. Also the entire season was voiced over instead of being animated over so it felt weird as well

Are these even 4k? The previous seasons Blu-ray was 1080p, even though every other season was 4k.

It's called greed. They stopped giving digital code since the 6th season. The final season of Flash (Season 9) also doesn't include digital. My friend was really pissed because he has 1-8 on VUDU and now there is a hole in his collection. Same thing happens to His Dark Material final season. The only WB TV series I can think of that comes with digital is House of Dragon. I can't be sure they will include it in the future.

Studios set aside money to pay VUDU (in this case) whenever someone redeems a code. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement. Sometimes the digital helps physical media sales. By expiring the codes which they started doing in 2023, they get to keep the money that was set aside, which becomes profit in accounting.
