Aurora HDR is for stacking bracketed photos. If that doesn't mean anything to you, you won't have any use for it.
Luminar 4 is basically a Lightroom Classic competitor. It's been discontinued.
Luminar AI is like "Luminar 5 Lite Edition". Think of it like super-powered filters: it's for adjusting an entire image at once, but does include some layers and masking features to apply those adjustments. It's somewhere between Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC.
(Not Part Of This Bundle) Luminar Neo is, as other posters have said, coming in February 2022. You can think of it as "Luminar 5 Pro."
If you want a more direct Photoshop competitor, check out Serif's Affinity Photo. I believe it's still on Black Friday sale as well.
It took about 20 minutes to learn the ins and outs of the Luminar AI software. I had several portraits of my daughter's friends that I needed to tweak for their senior pictures (my daughter is a junior). I was incredibly impressed with this software. I spent hours working on one picture in photoshop and the results weren't nearly as good as what I got from the Luminar AI software in about 5 minutes. This isn't a dig against Photoshop, I am just not any near proficient with the complexities of Photoshop. I was easily able to remove skin blemishes, erase fuzz on their clothing, brighten up the lighting on their faces, easily set complementary color, brightness and contrast as well a tweak many other settings in a few minutes.
So I read the several posts on this thread the one that caught my eye was Luminar Neo which will be released in February and will include the functionality of Luminar 4 and Luminar AI in a single package. Luminar Neo can be preordered for $59. For an extra $29 you can receive Luminar AI now with your $59 preorder of Luminar Neo.
OR you can order this bundled package and receive Luminar 4, Luminar AI, Aurora HDR and many filers for $25 then pre-order Luminar AI for $59 and save $3 while receiving a wealth of add-ons that work with Luminar AI and are supposed to work with Luminar Neo. It seems like a no-brainer to me so I ordered this bundled package and also preordered Luminar Neo for $59. Parts of this bundled package is still download as I write this. I was able to take the activation code for Luminar AI and immediately activate the trial version to the full version.
If I was a pro photographer I would take the time to learn the pro photo editing packages. I am not a pro, I am an enthusiastic amateur who doesn't particularly enjoy spending hours tweaking a single photo and I do not get paid for doing so. For me this is the perfect package. I don't edit photos on a daily basis so I will never gain the proficiency of the pros on the pro editing tools. There is a lot more to this software than simply replacing the sky in a photo with beautiful stock photo sky. Honestly replacing the sky has no interest to me. My old camera had built in HDR compilation which I really loved. My new camera does not. I am looking forwards to bracketing landscapes again with Aurora HDR and having more control over the results. The Luminous deal of $59 for Luminous Neo and an additional $29 dollars for Luminous AI does not come with Aurora HDR or any of the other great components of this bundle.
P.S. I have a somewhat fast computer with fast SSD drives. The performance of applying the different filters and doing the different edits in Luminar AI is fine for me even with my 61mp photos.
so they are old version practically.
if you want Neo, you better buy Neo at official site directly instead of buying this.

The deal is probably worth it for getting Luminar AI and Aurora HD.
If you already have Luminar4, you can probably gift it.
The plugins / templates are worth it too

This. Neo should be out by February. I use Luminar 4 on a daily basis and both love and hate it. Looking forward to Neo. I think the templates for this price are worth it though since they will be compatible with Neo.
The software is decent, but Luminar 4 takes an annoying very long time to start up on my Windows 11 system and I'm not sure why. I've also had random program freezes. As for its basic functions, it's easy to use and does get the job done.
Assume this software bundle can be used for photo editing - how is it compared to something like Photoshop in terms of capabilities(not price)?

- Photolemur is a "one click" photo enhancer. Might work on some photos but the other software is more interesting.

I suspect nothing really beats Lightroom but if it's 90% close then I don't mind trying, price seem very reasonable (even for Neo). I did not like Affinity Photo btw, it felt super cumbersome to use compared to Photoshop/Lightroom.
I 've both Luminar 4 and Luminar AI. Recently during black friday I also ordered Lumiar NEO (upgrade from AI) which is coming out in Feb 2022.
Have fun with photos and you can create very amazing photos with easy layers and filters in no time.

I had Photolemur 2? and recently I tried Luminar AI...Luminar AI is leaps and bounds better than Photolemur. Luminar Neo is Luminar AI except with more customizability and it's supposed to be faster. Give the free trial a try and see if it works for you.

I would recommend anyone thinking about this to set their expectations on what this software can do by downloading the demo from the website first. You'll notice that the "AI" engine may not identify the subject of photos or the composition correctly which will then make the program useless for the particular photo. Though when it works the results can be enjoyable.

We see a lot of these sort of apps on mobile, like the ones by Lightricks come to mind, but hardly any on the desktop anymore. At $25 for Luminar AI + a bunch of their add-ons is a pretty solid deal for anyone who wants that experience.
