I want to share my experience of using a gift card balance with promotions. Maybe they've fixed this, but in the past this didn't work.

Everything would seem fine, with the promotion discount showing all the way through the order confirmation. However, without any kind of notice, the promos were retroactively removed. I only discovered this by feeling like my gift card balance was off, and going through all of my previous transactions and doing the math. I think this was happening because using gift card balances were coded as promos, so it wouldn't take both (but would let you think it did).

This was super unethical. I filed a complaint with the BBB and another through either my state or a federal agency -- don't remember which. Eventually I got most of my balance back that I was overcharged on, but I'm still sitting on a lot of DoorDash credits since I haven't wanted to use them much since.

Try taking a look at your gift card balance and looking things over if you've used it with promotions. I would love to hear whether or not this has actually been fixed.

So roughly 20% discount but you have to spend $400 to get it.

Only caveat worth mentioning for something like this...I've bought $100 door dash gift cards for $80 before and thought it was a great deal....until the restaurants I order from decided to raise their prices entirely negating(and in some instances exceeding) the discount.

$400 is a lot to invest for such a small discount and it really locks you in to that ecosystem. I've had it go bad on me before...just thought I'd share my experience.

Beat me to it! This is an awesome deal, if you can fully realize the $100 savings. I know, people have their opinions about door dash and whatever - but it is super helpful with 2 really young kids now to have basically any thing delivered while we do bath and bedtime routine. We have the Chase SR and get the Dash Pass benefit, so that cuts down on the extra fees and the driver tip is 100% worth the convenience of not having to go pick it up. In for a few!

can you use doordash gift cards and still use dashpass benefits through chase sapphire reserve? I know if i dont use my saphhire reserve to pay, i cant use the dashpass benefits

Yes. I do it all the time. I always buy gifcards with discounts and never pay with the card.
