"Outdated" depends on price point. I went to compare prices and Govee doesn't make a RGBIC light with motion control. At this price point, half of the price is really distribution and marketing costs. The no-name brands with no quality history and less distribution costs are going to be cheaper, but that is generally true for many many products.

Personally I think colored lights look weird. I'm not hosting a LMAFO concert, I am lighting my home. If you are using LEDs for white light, make sure they have at least one dedicated white LED, better if they have two (cool and warm) so you can tune the white. RGB only gives a poor white.

That's a bit bold. I'd say the vast majority of use cases are just fine with or prefer a single strip color rather than per-LED control. That being said, I do plan to get some of these RGBIC for one particular use.

Kind of a standard price for these. The typical 3M 5050 LED strips along with a remote to adjust color/patterns and a power supply. The extra here that puts it into good deal territory is the motion sensor, don't typically see those bundled. There's also some level of guarantee with a company like Honeywell fronting it.

Generally not, especially cheaper items. Even made in USA items are a high percent of Chinese parts assembled in the US. The difference in name brand stuff as a whole, is that they have a much more stringent level of quality management oversight on manufacturers whereas the cheap wish or ali knock offs just ship it out. That's why some people love it and lots of people say it's junk. They're both right
