wemo is tied with "cync by ge" as the most pita smart switches/plugs/lights that ive dealt with. takes a ton of playing around to get them connected in the beginning... and then when you do get them, they are constantly shown as "not detected" for no reason. for days on end. and then just as mysteriously they will show back up and start working again. ive owned them for 5+years and theyve always been like this.

the nicest thing about the switches though is that you can set them up so long presses turn on other wemo lights. so if you have a (non dimmer) wall switch, a long press of that can turn on this outdoor plug.

this is a decent price though.

I would avoid Wemo switches. The whole system including the app is buggy. There are times when the switch no more becomes visible in the app. And you have to go through the entire reset and setup process to make them work again.

Just checked for outdoor smart plugs in amazon -- the Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug with two, individually controlled outlets (new version) is $19.99, down from $24.99,

You can long press on dimmers and regular wall switches. I have rules set up now for both

Just bought the Wyze equivalent of this. I have no experience with smart plugs. Any advantage to the Wemo one?

If you want to use this with Apple Home I wouldn't recommend it. The Wemo bridge required for HomeKit works for up to about a week then needs to be power cycled. Lutron Caseta switches and dimmers on the other hand have worked flawlessly for over a year with Apple Home.

Thank you for this! I bought one from Belkin earlier this month because I had a promo code. I regretted not getting a second one and when I checked yesterday it was no longer in stock. Best Buy had it but for regular price of course. Now today it's on sale😀

I bought the Wyze outdoor plug last night at my local Home Depot and am returning today.
My issue, or just oversight before buying is that there is not a right-angle plug on the Wyze switch, so if you are using in an outdoor, covered outlet, it won't be able to close.
