This is a serious blower and one of the few that will rival most of the noisy smelly 2-stroke gas handheld blowers. I and a friend both have older versions of the 80V blowers.
This is a great deal because of getting 2 batteries. The 2 batteries alone are almost worth this much.

About battery weight, these are the "smaller" ones at 2AH (still 80V though) and are quite large. That's because they store a lot of power. (2*80=160WH). I recently got their 80V mower and used my 2AH battery, but wanted a larger battery, so I got the 4AH on a Costco deal this Summer. That 4AH battery is quite a bit heavier and a bit longer (sticks out past back of tool by design). That one is 4*80=320WH, which is a lot of power, like you'd need for a lawn mower on a large lawn. Personally I think the 4AH in a blower is overkill and this deal makes more sense as you get 2 of the lighter 2Ah batteries, so if you have a large area to work on, you can charge one battery while using the other. The charging is pretty fast. I really like the Greenworks 80V system.

If you are only doing light-duty things, like dry leaves on a paved driveway, you probably don't need this. You can get cheap Ryobi or some DeWalt 20V ones and they will be much smaller and lighter. But if you want something to replace that noisy Stihl 2-stroke, you'd move up to this.

Definitely.

Just this fall I went the other way - modified my Kobalt 6Ah battery (that came with crazy deal mower) to use in this blower. Heavy, but runs more than long enough to even re-charge both of my 2Ah batteries. Used a Dremel and drill press to modify the slot on each side of the battery. Now I'll get to use it in my snow "thrower" as well!

Yeah, I have no idea! Other deals on the Costco Greenworks $80 promo got downvotes too with people ranting about "spam" and "shill." I have no idea why -- if you are looking for Greenworks deals, as I was earlier this year, these are good deals to know about and I don't see anything wrong with the deals. I don't know if there is some Anti-Costco or Anti-Greenworks thing going on I just didn't know about. I didn't know people were so rabidly polarized in Costco/Greenworks deals as they seem to be about everything else in this country now.

Just bought it! Love my Greenworks mower and looks like these batteries would be cross-compatible. Thanks!

Good deal for the batteries alone. Blower isn't bad either.

How long does 2Ah last on this thing? If it were 18-24V it would only be a couple of minutes. I have no idea for 80V though!

Not a Costco member? Me either. Total shipped with non member surcharge for me was $213.99.
Can't buy two new 80v 2AH batteries for $107 apiece. So I get discounted bats and they threw in a free charger and leaf blower. What's not to like?

just in case you're confused, an 80v 2ah battery would be four times bigger than a 20v 2ah battery.

Why 4x larger? Are you assuming constant energy density, conversion efficiency, and packing efficiency? Shouldn't higher voltage be higher efficiency?

This is a great deal. Not sure why the downvotes? This was $220 in store only in the fall and had good reception. $200 shipped is awesome (especially when you live 45 min from Costco).

Because they both use essentially the same material for the battery power. If you were to take the stuff inside of 80v 2ah and convert it to 20v , you would get 8ah. So 8ah/2ah = 4. The math: voltage x amp = power. 20v x 2ah = 40 watts, 80v x 2ah = 160 watts. 160/40= 4, which is 4x more material needed to make 80v at 2ah.
