I just rma'd one that was like a year old. My current opinion is no...
Logitech makes you do a million steps to RMA it even recording a video. It's insane. Anyone know if there is a way to bypass the BS on a logitech RMA process?
I install new MX518, no more double clicking, put old one back, it double clicks. Seems like enough troubleshooting to me to say that its bad.

There are several good mouse manufacturers these days so you have other options.
edit: i feel like I have to add to this. I've been hearing a lot about recent QC issues, for that, I can't really comment because I bought another one about a year ago, still going strong. So here's the gist, this mouse is legendary. It was the first optical mouse that I bought, literally when they first started coming out. The only issues that I've had was gunking of the plastic material. At some point, I went to salvation army, picked up a bric-a-brac mx518 that wasn't working and replaced my cable with that one. I am literally still using that same mouse from 2005 as we speak.
