Considering a battery is at least $150+ and will need replacing after 3-6 years, I'm not sure I can recommend Ego anymore.
Is there a brand for which that isn't true, or are you advocating a return to ICE mowers?

Had ego since 2014 no issues with batteries.

My 5Ah Ego battery just died after 6 years of non-intensive use. At $240 to replace it, that averages to $40 a year on 1 battery -- a ratio that should be better in my opinion. Or Ego should double their warranty duration.

I just had a 7.5Ah die after 2.5 years. Luckily, its still in warranty. Also had the mower self propel fail while in warranty. It does not inspire confidence in the product

$40 a yr on battery is not too bad imo. The cost to operate a gas mower is more if you include the maintenance and time needed to do so.

I keep hoping to see 18" chainsaw come back down to $180.

Also, there are some 10% off gift cards being sold right now for Lowes, so can try to stack with these deals.

I wish they could make robotic string trimmers.

I just got the same mower with 7.5Ah battery last week. At the $399 price this one would have been a better deal though since I didn't really need the 7.5Ah. Too much of a pain to return it with gift cards involved though. Picked up the string trimmer though. With some of the gift card deals it's a pretty good price.

Wish the backpack blower with the battery had been on sale, but got it anyway. With the military/veteran discount it came to $359.10. Paid most of that with $250 Lowe's gift (cost: $225) and two $50 gift cards (cost: $90) deals from SD.

Net cost, after tax, $324.65 to save my stepdad's back during the fall. Plus I get to borrow it.

I'm not seeing military discount for "sale" items any longer.

Buy a $20 off $100 coupon from online sellers, use gift cards at 10% off to make the purchase, and your effective price is $164.
