There is a $30 off coupon on this 65.6 version of RGBIC. I have multiple versions of RGBIC and honestly can't tell the difference. I group them and light bulbs and tv strips and most work together well. The tv strips that are black are really nice for small spaces and crazy bright. Go on sale a fair amount.
I provided Govee my order numbers for the TV Immersion kit and the light bars I bought in the past and they are going to send a new controller pack when they have them ready to combine the two like in the newer combo pack. They are accepting those requests through Dec 31.
This was the text I found on the Govee site.
We do not want to disappoint any of our users, so
we decided to provide you with a new control box
for free. With this new control box, you can also
enjoy the
"Highlight" feature, even if the hard-
ware version of your device is below v3.02.01.
Currently, we are still working on the new control
box and hope to release it in January 2022. This
is in order for it to be compatible with all of the
cameras
hardware versions.
How to apply for the new control box
Email your order number of the H6199 or H6054
to [email protected] with a screenshot of the
hardware version number before Dec 31st, 2021.
You can find the hardware number on the Device
Setting page.
Please note that the deadline to apply for the free
control box is December 31st, 2021.

PDF says for I door use only. The LEDs and resistors are probably just coated for protection, not weatherproofing

The 65.6 went on sale as a lightning deal during prime day on 6/21/21. I've had another one in the cart since then and never saw it dip again after that. During lightning deal, they dropped $20 so it was like $45.99 at the time.
As long as there are bare copper pads to solder to then you can on all of the led strips. Govee just doesn't like to make their led strips with them is what I tend to notice. They also don't have smart enough hardware/firmware in them to have detection of the amount of leds on the strip. Seen people use Govee strips but use wled software to control them.

These aren't made to be connected with others, even other Govee strips.
I have both govee with and without the coating. Without is easier to turn corners or "fold", but i really prefer with the coating as it feels even better quality.
As for adding more to your strip, there's a maximum you can add per controller due to power and the previously mentioned functionality.
I love my govee lights and have recommended them to others, but i will say they have a bit of a delay with voice commands... this may just be lag between apps talking to eachother idk.
These have a terminated end. You can't extend or cut short. They must be left un-altered.
