I go to Hawaii every year for 25 years and have family there. So I didn't have to pay rental car or room and board. Food cost me over 1k for 2 weeks for family of 5... its a tough pill to swallow with current price on everything.

All the airlines increased their fares and started charging for checked in bags at the time of 2010 recession with economy slowing down, gas prices going up. They are still doing that despite gas prices later came down.
We all will see dramatic effect of COVID on airline business. Ultimately we as a final consumers will pay for the airline's economic lose by paying high airfare! ☹️
