Performance would be fairly similar, though the fire hd10+ has 4GB ram vs the 3GB in the galaxy tab.

I was going to buy this tablet, but I bought the fire hd 10+ instead for $105. Fire toolboxed it and it's a great tablet for cheap. It also gets updates for 4 years after amazon stops selling it, which will be at least a year or two. Samsung is only going to update the A7 for another year or so.

I for one am tired of companies cranking out a new tablet every year that isn't much different from the year before, and abandoning software updates.

My 2015 Fire HDX tablet got updates until earlier this year!

Some hacker-ish tools to remove ads, bloatware and add google play store. I heard it's blocked in the latest and greatest Fire Bezos but not sure. I have been eyeing this but Costco has been out of stock for so long I ended up biting the Lenovo P11 Plus steal.

My old Galaxy Tab S2 is better in many aspects than this one but I guess it is new and would be a good as a tablet for kids.

I just picked up the Tab A7 Light (the 8 inch one) for $129.99 at Best Buy in case anyone is interested in that model. It's the 64GB version.

one diff between lite and the reg versio is the lite doesn't have smart view to cast the screen to other samsung devices including TV

I assume u can if the app supports it. With smart view, it just mirrors the screen so you can cast things that are not supported by chrome cast

I bought the 64gb from best buy. I wish samsung had it in stock because honey has a $32 cashback. I guess for those that want the 32gb can take advantage of it
