I impulse bought this on the Walmart deal.
I own 3 Nvidia Shields, and 2 Amazon sticks...
Google ecosystem is way better, so the Apple is going back.

While the shield has greater flexibility (and I have one as a plex server), I just don't like the progression of the ui and more and more ads

Did anyone ever find a way to side load on these? I like Apple TV a lot and own one, but I still mainly use my ShIeld TV and Fire TV because I can side load apps. Thanks.

The Apple TV 4K is simply incredible if you have a 4k TV and dolby Atmos speakers

Even if you don't it's great.

You don't need to cast or airplay anything if you have Apple TV. Just search for your YouTube content on your phone of Mac, make sure the YouTube app of Netflix or whatever app is logged into the same account as your phone and you can play it directly on your Tv with Apple Tv

Are you talking about Google TV? I used to use that and really liked it, but mine is a Blu Ray player with an old version of Google TV. I still actually have it hooked up, but never use it. Once they stopped supporting it, I found alternatives. I wonder if my Blu Ray player can be updated to this version of Google TV? Can you sideload with it? How does it compare to Shield? That's what I mainly use now.

I doubt yours is compatible. As far as I know, Android TV used to only have Nexus Player, Shield, and MiBox. Now there's Dynalink and the Onn Stick. So I doubt your Blu Ray Player has Android TV.

AirPlay and Apple TV OS are limited to 24bit/48kHz
