I would recommend that you put the price and Woot in the title.

Not sklick imo.

Welded disc bottom is a different technology than All-Clad and one typically associated with low cost pans.

You can steam oatmeal in just about anyting but like George said its hard to beat Insatnt Pot especially for soft steel cut oats in no time.
Nah, this is definitely a slick deal. Amazon is still selling these for over $198... direct from Amazon. The CNET article states it was an outstanding deal on Woot when it was reduced to $75... and this was only $50.

Also, where did you get the bottom was welded? According to everything I've read, this is fully clad tri ply stainless steel with an aluminum core. The outside ply goes from bottom of pan all the way to top - so no welded disc on bottom. Honestly, these stainless steel lids in this size, alone, sell for over $30.

Amazon's listing for $198 actually has a lot of info on the pan. Take a look:

Yes it is difficult to find a decent entry level 3.5 qt covered saute for less. But for many looking to upgrade from economy grade cookware or building a first kitchen the $50 might be better off invested elsewhere. Because it is easy to get stuck with a pot the user doesn't like for some reason and which ends up cluttering the kitchen I highly recommend avoiding final sale no return deals like Woot.

Fully clad means the sidewalls are 3 ply. The bottom welded on external disc is clearly visible. This technology is desireable for induction because it reduces warping. Demeyere takes it up many notches in the Atlantis by sealing the disc inside the botttom and using thicker and more conductive layers albeit at ten times the price. Some users may not like the weight or balance which is a complaint for Atlantis.

Little can be said about the execution or thermal performance or food release in the absense professional testing or comparitive reviews and no specs. In a heavy saute many are switching to enameled iron due to concerns over nickel chromium and heavy metals. Good point on the lid but only if it fits other pots in the home. The Demeyere KitchenAid was super slick. Buyers will find out for themselves if this Asian saute is slick.

Odd considering it's welded disc bottom. Is WOOT! taking it back?

edit: I see it has a cap over the disc made of magnetic stainless steel as opposed to a magnetic core in the disc. Can't say I've seen that before. Not very efficient. Stock is being cleared out through woot for a reason.
