Ordered the petty knife. Having been very happy using my VG10 gyuto and VG10 nakiri from another Japanese brand for the last 6 years. Now I finally got a VG10 petty knife. Thanks!

Man I always see these American express deals.. Should I get that card?
No because not all Amex cards have these offers. I haven been a 20-year Amex cardholder and I don't see many of the offers posted on here.

The John Boos Maple cutting board is $64.99 [blueapron.com] before discounts, effectively $27 after AMEX offer

An equivalent Boos board is $85.95 at Amazon [amazon.com]
unfortunately, it went OOS while in my cart. Thanks anyway - seems like a nice deal

Thanks for the heads-up. So, its ultra sharp and prone to rust. I guess I have to keep it for display only.

Get American Express Blue Preferred card, you'll never regret it. It has $100 annual fee but you'll be easily covering with the 6% CB in just groceries
It is a nice card, but unfortunately 6% is limited to the first $6000 of grocery spending per year. So, 6% of 6000 is 360, covering the $95 annual fee. But the no annual fee Blue cash everyday card gets 3% up to 6000 per year, which equals $180. So, if you do the math, 180+95(preferred fee)=275. The preferred comes out ahead of the everyday card by (360-275)$85 after $6000 of grocery spending. Now I am only considering this specific category of rewards, but that is what I use it for. It is worth it if you know you are spending over 6k in groceries a year.
