This is a fantastic grill for this price. If you missed out on the Kamado Joe classic for $399, this is the next best thing.

How is this for slow cooks? Already have a kettle with slow n sear but I have to fiddle with it often to hold temp

I've haven't been able to maintain low temp for more than a few hours. Though to be honest my lump charcoal sucks. I'm going to get some B and B this weekend and try it out.

If you do get this grill you have to get some gasket and seal both the lid and the slow roller as it's not very tight.

Having said that, the smoke it does produce is far superior compared to my Weber kettle.

Great deal. Had I not bought a ceramic kamado from Costco (thanks to slickdeals), i would be buying this aluminium version. Site works fine and is showing 299 price without any codes needed.

Generally you won't have as good of heat retention as you would with a ceramic grill, but this does have a large cooking surface and the sloroller is nice. Very good deal at this price and certainly a versatile grill.

I only paid $69 for an akorn on a Walmart ymmv and it's still rolling. However if I were in the market I would give this a serious look.

No, this isn't better than a Kamado grill, mainly due to heat retention. But it is a great charcoal grill and smoker because of the added slow roller. If I didn't already have the classic 1, I'd get this.

Reading reviews - some issues regarding the seal around the lid being pretty poor. Causes some difficulty managing temp and eating through charcoal very quickly. Also the ash tray seems to be another trouble spot as it can be difficult to remove and flimsy.
