Just saw this advertised on Reddit, but this is a really hot deal for those that can get it. Note these are "slightly blemished and gently used".

https://www.juicedbikes.com/blogs...house-sale

I'm guessing there will be a line for these deals. I have the Hyperscorpion and that thing is a blast to ride as a little 30mph moped around town.

CrossCurrent S2 Starting at $399 (Regularly $1,799)

RipCurrent Starting at $599 (Regularly $1,799)

Scrambler Starting at $699 (Regularly $1,799)

Scorpion Starting at $499 (Regularly $1,799)

RipCurrent S Starting at $999 (Regularly $2,699)

CrossCurrent X Starting at $899 (Regularly $2,499)

HyperScorpion $1,299 (regularly $2,799)

Starting at.. seems like teaser prices for the ones that are really bad shape. I'd bet the regular ones are maybe 30-35% off of their inflated prices. They're not really good about discounting and their customer service is pretty bad. I couldn't even get them to honor their HyperFat bike prices when they introduced the bike. I had so much hope for Tora's company.

Even so, if you can grab some at that price, the battery alone would almost be worth it.

This is like a black friday deal from 2006 where people will be camping outside. It really depends how many they have. I can imagine there will be many people camping outside for this deal and I also imagine they will not have enough.

Finally a brand I know. Scorpion is a legit moped. Motor + pedals

But a legit moped looks cool, usually has need of customization to set it up how you like (absolutely you need to raise that seat if you're tall) and is something you'll ideally be able to perform routine maintenance or repairs on yourself

No warranty and no returns. Just be aware that you might be rolling the dice without warranty. My Ripcurrent 13Ah battery pack failed with less than 500 miles.

Aren't the batteries to be replaced every few years? I mean if I'm paying $399 I can't really complain but it's good to know to expect an expense

I just get worried when you say "failed" as those packs are incredibly dangerous when they go critical. My friend's parents garage and all their cars and almost the house got toasted by an e-motorcycle one

Refurbished ebikes with no warranty from a company that just imports cheap generic bikes from China and slaps their name on it.

This seems like a really good way to burn your house down. As someone who has been in the bicycle industry for 20+ years let me offer one piece of advice:

Don't buy cheap ebikes and never buy used ebikes.

No, batteries' capacity will degrade after every charge cycle. But a significant reduction is not until after 500 charges for most quality batteries. They won't burn a house up because they're a few years old. Also, a bike battery is a huge part of the expense, so you expect it to last more than a few years. Asiansensation probably only completed less than two dozen charging cycles before the battery failed, so that is concerning.

Most ebike even from name-brand manufacturers are coming out of Chinese factories. The battery packs are produced in China because we don't have the raw materials to make them ourselves.

Also, I agree with don't buy cheap but there is nothing wrong with buying a used ebike. I've been around the ebike scene for 5+ years, and the only risk is the degraded capacity. But if you're buying a quality ebike with quality batteries, it shouldn't be an issue.

Feel to, ya know, actually back up your words by showing us a cheap Hyperscorpion available from China

I swear this site is just people spouting nonsense with zero accountability for it

This is a known brand with plenty of known owners online now you can find in the community to question. Or listen to some SD rando

If these were regularly those prices, these should have 1250watt motors on these bikes. Does anybody know what size motors these have?

Real owner here. I have had a brushed aluminum hyperscorpion for about year, 3000 miles and counting in LA. Original pack and even tires. Zero maintenance issues. 52V system, a legit 32 mph of assist in race mode. It's more like a light moped (100 lbs) but I still use assist mode most of the time (ie I pedal in pedalec mode). These are not generic bikes, the founder personally designs and oversees their build. He chronicles his whole process over YouTube. I have had 3 e-bikes (original Faraday, Koben S, and HS) this is by far my favorite. I put a storage box on the back and now use it more than my car. Get a very good helmet as again these are class 3+ bikes.

The only challenge I had was having a flat…bike shops won't have the tubes in stock as it's more like a small motorcycle tire. Had to chain the bike, Uber home, and come back to pick up the bike. Ended up just patching the tube and fixing the flat was relatively easy.

Have a friend with Crosscurrent S, this one more like a traditional bike but has the same drive system.
