Deal Details
XF 23mm f/1.4 R from FUJIFILM is a general wide-angle prime offering a 35mm equivalent focal length to suit working with a broad range of subjects. The bright f/1.4 maximum aperture suits working in difficult lighting conditions and enables greater control over depth of field for isolating subject matter. The optical design incorporates one aspherical element, which helps to reduce distortion and increase sharpness, and a Super EBC coating has also been applied to minimize ghosting and flare. Additionally, a rounded seven-blade diaphragm is featured, and contributes a smooth bokeh quality.

This is the old version. There is a newer, much sharper, optically perfect, and fast-autofocusing Fuji 23mm 1.4 lens that recently came out. Regardless, a lot of people still like this lens for its character and focus clutch, and it's a good deal for a new copy of something that's likely to never be sold again in the near future.

I am in a transition from Sony to Fuji, for a similar price since the 1.4 is on sale, do you recommend 23mm f2? or f1.4?

I'd prefer the 1.4 for the ability to get shallow depth of field even though the focusing is kind of slow and loud. It works well for wedding, events, and portraits. You will find it equivalent to the look of a 35mm f2 lens on Sony. The 23mm f2 is for those who want a fast-and-close-focusing lens that is light, nimble, and good for documentary type stuff. But it's a dark aperture for low light and can't get shallow depth of field pictures easily, being equivalent to a 35mm f2.8 on full frame. Both are very good lenses. Up to you to decide which to take for your own needs, but the better resale value will be on this 1.4 since you'd be buying it new at a discount.
