This style of stud finder is the best that I've ever used. Never gave me a false positive. I got mine at Costco many years back for about $25-30. I'll never go back to those sub $10 ones.

None of the single sensor stud finders come close to the performance of this stud finder; for better or worse the design incorporates patents which are aggressively protected by Franklin. As such, this is the one to buy.

Good luck!

These are great, if I'm shooting for dead stud center I combine this with the magnet stud finder and 99% of the time it's a hit

I hope this one works better than all my previous units... they only worked when I used them on myself...

Does this work on finding studs/posts in plaster ceilings?

The magnet ones have been my savior for years now. Studpop is the one I use and it's excellent

I'll give this a try. I paid for "premium" ones that are still unreliable. Fingers crossed this one is better. If not it's promptly going back. Have no hesitations returning to garbage Walfart

Brickseek shows this as low as $5 in this area, but all stores out of stock. Maybe someone will get lucky
