I saw this crazy offer on my blue cash preferred card. Seems like the craziest credit card offer of all time.

Happy to tell it worked for me

Sorry if it was mentioned earlier in thread, I didn't see it.
Guess I'll start adding tons of offers to see if it comes up

I'd spend $3000 at costco on a high end item in a hurry and if it doesn't come through return the merchandise. If it does come through then return the merchandise for a costco gift card rather than credit back to the card so you can keep the $6000.
as i mentioned in other threads in the past, the amex offer team is probably two people, a mid-level analysis to get the job done and an intern. don't expect any high level of professionalism. they're probably in meetings right now with upper mgmt trying to figure out how best to mitigate the damages. worse case they pull back all the offers and claw back all the pending payments. or, send out a correct for those that got errors. if you don't have a point system then it's pretty obvious you can't use this.
Edit:
Just got off the phone, rep told me it was a mistake and it will be canceled.
Not sure why I feel good about it.

i don't think they can pull the offer once you have added it to your account but they can address it (individually) if you use it. they are amateurs so we'll never know. they might send a letter, they might claw it back, they might let it slide. all they have to do is add up the total cost and make the [loss] determination. if i were in charge, i would apologize, my mistake, and allow you to use it once, not 3 times. and then i would investigate and follow up action with the amex offer team. and then i would push for funds to overhaul the amex offer program.

The amount of people still asking about this shows why this thread needs to be marked dead.
It was a mistake. If you got lucky enough like me to add the offer before they corrected it then awesome.
I'm nervous if they'll take it back or not but that's why I keep coming back here to see if anyone reports anything of the nature.

I am working to spend 2nd $1000, as I already got my first $1000 credit posted to my account. Just spend on whatever you will spend anyway like cell/cable/insurance bills, you can prepay most of these as well. It's like all other amex offers, you can split your spending. So not much to lose, nothing to worry at all.
