LG doesn't get enough credit. They have better Customer Service and better quality TVs compared to Samsung.

They get all the credit. They're considered the best OLED TV you can buy right now.

Did this deal in November and BuyDig was great. Quick shipping, quick credit on the $100, TV perfect. Lots of people asked for clarification on whether the CPS warranty included burn-in and multiple people contacted both and confirmed it.

Tempting, have a 13 year old Samsung 1080 52" I've been thinking about replacing. Was leaning towards a U7G as its just a TV I use to play games on mostly, seems U7G is probably a good budget buy for a PS5. This is probably better, not sure its $500 better though...Plus losing 4" vs gaining 3"

Thats a good question. One I'd also like to know the answer to. I personally think and I'm no expert. It all depends on the format you watch and or use on screen for long periods of time that causes or accelerates burn in (news, subtitles, etc). I have seen some youtube videos of people using these OLEDS as monitors and getting burn in in less than a year. That being said, I think buying an additional warranty should cover your product regardless of its issue. Unless the item was dropped/damaged etc as a result of the consumer (insurance would be needed there). If not, I don't feel like these companies should be offering a warranty on said item(s). Not a lot of consumers are going to read the fine print to know exactly what they're buying. The one thing I think we will know in a few years is how bad the burn in will be on all of these OLEDs. Especially since the panels are all currently made and supplied by LG. I really hope my 65" A8G last a lot longer than 4-5 years. Especially considering how much it cost even on sale !

I'd recommend going bigger if you had to choose between the two for gaming. OLED is awesome, but I think if you plan on gaming a lot on the tv you'd be much happier with the extra screen and money in your pocket to buy more games. I just went from a 47" LG from 2013 to a 65" OLED from 2020. At first I thought it was a little to big for my viewing area but that didn't last long. Unless, you plan on replacing with same size I'd always go bigger vs smaller.

Yea, thats what I'm thinking. This TV doesn't get a ton of use, other than when I play games either, so I have trouble justifying spending too much more on it. This old 1080 TV has done well and still looks "good," we have some cheaper 4K TVs that I've hooked up the PS5 to see if I can tell a huge difference, and really don't know that I do.

I have an older Samsung plasma and burn ins started to appear around year 6 for me. Obviously different panel and different lighting tech but it's something.

Burn in is situational and relative to the user. Word is if you use it as a monitor or keep it on a static screen for a long period of time, high chances of burn in. If you're using it for media consumption and gaming, it will be fine. Plus I think older OLED models are more prone. In the end, I think most users will not experience burn in.

The current generation of panels and software is too new to see long term risk of burn-in. From initial reports, the static motion of the picture with the latest iteration of their OS, burn-in is almost a non-issue. Id take that with a grain of salt, as the oldest sets running it are at the three year mark I believe.
