Is there an easy way to add a spinner to these? Easy as in drilling a hole, mounting a spinner, and plugging it into some adapter or the unit itself.

I just bought the Tempest cabinet but would rather have this if I can add the spinner.
(I love me some Tempest if you can't tell).

This deal hit the Legends Ultimate Sub:

I bet if you post there, you'll get a very informed answer.

Excellent, thanks. And I guess since the deal hit that site, I need to invoke SlickDeals rule #2...buy now, think later.

Glad to help. And yes, buy now, think later. You can always return for a full refund (as I will be doing after buying one of these for $160 — still hasn't arrived).

nothing preventing you from adding a hole - or getting a button-hole spinner and subbing out one of the existing buttons. But the mainboard inside the unit probably does not have an active header for the spinner - meaning you would have to run it separate. Personally I subbed out the existing mainboard entirely for a 3rd-party one (ipac-2) and run coinopsPC on a mini-pc instead of coinopsX on the puck.

Love my Pro, you can expand the game library via USB drives and customize things if thats your preference. Google "one sauce".

For the Legends Gamer Pro, there are 2 versions of the main board inside the control deck. My understanding is that while both versions have the connector for the OEM spinners, only one of them will actually work if you connect the OEM spinners. I can confirm there are two different versions of the main board because I have two LGPs and one had the older board and the other had the newer board, but I haven't tried plugging in the OEM spinners to the newer board yet.

Also: If you want to buy the OEM spinners, they are now $30 per spinner and it is a different part for the L and R spinners (one spinner has a single connector that plugs into the other spinner and the other spinner has two connectors...one as input from the other spinner and the other is an output to connect to the main board.

I have no idea if the Legends Gamer Mini has the same main board in it or not.

Also, I'm not sure how a button-hole spinner would be connected to the deck's main board unless you buy one that explicitly supports the ALU and includes the adapters.

Just dusted mine a couple days ago. Glad I have it though. I think mine was only $99 but that was before inflation.

I also picked up the LGP when it was on sale for $99...that was an awesome deal.

I hardly ever use it because I already have 2 ALUs, but it did come in handy recently when my ALU 1.1 control deck stopped working. I swapped out the ALU deck with the ALP deOnck and everything worked fine, so that allowed me to confirm the problem was with the control deck (most likely the CTR board) and am now waiting for AtGames to tell me how much I'll have to pay for a new CTR board.

One thing I just don't understand is why AtGames didn't just put the damn spinners in the Legends Gamer control decks...or at least make it an easy add-on option.

I'm tempted to pick up the Legends Gamer Mini for use in a vertical screen cabinet, but the lack of trackball and/or spinner is still annoying since I'd need it for most of the vertical screen games I want to play.

Ugh, I finally pulled the trigger on a Gamer Pro from GameStop 9 days ago for $161. I hope they will credit the $30 difference so I don't have to drive to a store to return.

**Update- no price match available for items previously discounted even though it arrived yesterday. Looks like this big box is going back out of principle.

What's the difference between the TableTop Arcade and the Console? Looks like the description at GameStop is for something else.
