Two generations old. Much better off with a refurb DJI Mini 2 fly more combo with occusync 2 fly more combo; better range, flight time same price bracket.
Air 2S if you care about this size airframe at its best.
I have too many drones to pick from to consider this at (likely) any price.
Anyone know how good a referb drone is? I don't mind most referb items, but I can imagine someone slamming a drone into a tree and sending it back. Hard to believe they would/could get it back into perfect working order.

Buy DJI Refresh for $40 for a year. Covered if it does crash.
Also the refurb I've gotten from DJI is great.

I've bought 2 DJI Mini 2 refurbs, and both looked like brand new, in fact I'm still not convinced they were refurbs, but just sold as them.
I bought the Mavic air when it came out a few years ago. It's still a good drone with lots of great features you find on newly released drones. However, you should be aware of the cons...
As listed above, replacement batteries are hard to find for this quadcopter. This uses an enhanced wifi signal for data transmission, so it doesn't have as far of range as some of the newer stuff. It will get out around a mile away though. Flight time is less than newer models, as this only runs about 15 minutes on a full charge. It's loud. For a small drone, this thing is noisy, and this isn't unexpected if you're familiar with drones, but don't get this with the intent of stealthily spying on your neighbors back yard.
With those points listed, it still has served me well, and I used it to film a wedding reception in October without any trouble. If you're familiar with the specs, this is still a solid drone that will get you some great footage.
I grabbed the Mavic Mini that was posted here a few weeks ago. It was a refurb as well; offered by DJI. I can't tell it from a new one. The packaging was "as new" and the drone and remote look brand new. It's my first drone so I don't have anything to compare against but so far it's performed flawlessly. I *did* have a bit of trouble since my Android phone, an LG G8 ThinQ was not compatible with the DJI Fly app, so I ended up buying a different LG phone off eBay for $67. An unexpected expense, but still a good deal and my issue was my fault for not checking on phone compatibility first. (Well actually, I *did* check. The list I saw showed that the LG G8 was compatible. It turns out that the ThinQ version is not. I should've dug a little deeper).

I had to ditch my LG G8 phone because of not being compatible. While researching to get another LG i found they are out of the phone business and won't be supporting updates. So I went with a S10 for $200 and it's much better as far as compatibility and overall experience. Good luck. I loved my lg phones I've had them since the g3.

TAP fly and obstacle avoidance vs Better range, portability and flight time for the Mini 2 are the main points folks should consider.
Mavic Air doesn't qualify as a toy and must be registered. Also about 6 mph faster top speed and MUCH noisier when doing so.

Use your discretion, this is an oldie.
