It's trash; just an electronic equalizer that is set to make loud explosions and crap in games like COD. These are NOT competitive settings. These do not increase footstep sounds. This does not increase sound stage. The free version offered by microsoft sonic (free on xbox) is nearly identical.

Worse is for games like R6S which was designed for stereo only, turning on Dolby atmos or any other surround config will just convert that stereo audio to fake surround sound, thus giving you wrong audio in-game.

Go uncompressed or windows sonic. Don't waste money on this trash tier garbo.

As for people on windows; do not download and pay for this trash. This is by far better and cheaper -> https://github.com/jaakkopasanen/AutoEq

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFB9uBKyP8s <- Video on how to configure it.

TL;dr you want a NEUTRAL sound for competitive FPS, not this boosted crap for kids who want to make their ears bleed everytime a grenade is thrown. Want a better sound stage? Stop playing on closed back headphones geared to sell to 12 year olds from gamestop.

I have both dolby and dts, dts is much more noticeable (dolby sounds very similar to sonic) and I recommend over this. Dts was on sale during Black Friday for $9.99

Worth it just for mp shooter games... has setting for movies/games/music/custom. If I forget to change back for games, I can automatically tell in shooter games becuz I don't get the same spatial/directional sound of players.

for music/movies , I can't say if it's superior as I can't see a huge difference.

Does this work for all earbuds and headphones or just certain ones?
Don't quote me on this but I think it works for all earbuds and headphones.

To be clear, the game, app, or movie needs to have Dolby Atmos for this to work? It doesn't apply this universally like opening up some random YouTube video on the web?

Here is a video Linus did on Surround Sound for headphones. Tested software and hardware based solutions. Dolby Atmos actually tested really well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_JpAyWMeiQ

used to not stay on in Windows 10. Windows 11 seems to have fixed this issue.

It works pretty well and you don't have to finagle with anything.

It accentuates the queues in games that give you a better idea of where sound is coming from and it does expand the soundstage.

Your github won't work on Xbox.

Use this Dolby link to test...https://www.dolby.com/atmos-visualizer-movies/

Here are the games supported https://www.dolby.com/experience/games/

I didn't know the games had to be supported..I didn't see R6 onn the list but I can tell a significant difference if not on.

Here is a video of it on r6 by a user

Don't what to tell you but I can absolutely hear directional sound better with atmos, more specific then with sonic or the other one. If it's fake, it works , whatever it's doing.

I'm always making good callouts based on the directional sound where many times my friends can't pinpoint. And I'm only using $30 Sony earbuds that I love.

Don't need it, but does sound good in games. That headset does come with a 90 day trial.
