That's what I did. I stocked up on discounted gift cards over time and purchased a Series X when I got the invite. The $500 system only cost me about $400.

fantastic way to get an extra 20% off some hardware, now if only the MS store would carry the new 2TB Series X/S SSDs! For some extremely annoying reason they are only selling the 512GB and 1TB versions.

And it no longer is showing the discount


Called customer service and I had a mistake with the billing address. Item limit they couldn't remove but they said to place the order again and when it ships they can provide the discount manually when I call back, so I'm going through that process. 20% off is a good deal!

I tried to re-order and that also was cancelled. I called customer service. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with them. They had me re-ordered a third time. When I tried to re-order a third time, the $10 discount doesn't appear. There was a limit of 2 and the cancelled orders appear in the system. They said they will credit me $10 after order is delivered. Have to wait and see if that will happen.
