This is probably not going to be very popular. But, at this price point if you can make modifications to your house you'd be better off to pay someone to drop a few lines to couple locations in the house. Get a couple access point (ubiquiti access for $100-200 each). Drop extra line for Ethernet for your stationary computer while you work. You will be set for life. Swap out of the access point for $100-200 each few years for the new protocol. Yes you will probably pay a little more initially but none of the issues with mesh dropping and all. Also, instead of dropping Ethernet If you have coaxial around your house look up MoCA, you can then use that coupled with access point save you the hassle of having to drop Ethernet cable, it's much better than power line Ethernet and it can actually handle up to gigabit speed.

That would be easy to do, unless you live in northern climate where you have insulation in your walls, which makes it much harder to run a line in the wall, and impossible if you have foam blown insulation (rigid type).

Also Ubiquti is more advanced, for someone who knows what they are doing (I've installed a few Ubiquity products myself).

Agreed. Some blocker for sure. But I feel it's still worth it. At least for this price point. If a sub $100 router works for you then I've would never recommended this.

This is for someone that has a gigabit internet or higher and want gigabit speeds over your WiFi.

I would argue this is for someone that wants coverage. You are never going to get your gigabit speed over that second satellite. Maybe if you are off the primary device, I don't see gigabit happening with this. Also you can get gigabit over WiFi with a $200 router. This is something you get for coverage.

Replacing an ORBI rbk50 that has served our household very well. I think this is the lowest price this has ever been. I don't need the speed right now, but...

All-in-one solution for:
Multi SSID
VLAN
LAG
a little future-proofing on speed
and a 5-year warranty

We have lots of devices that would benefit, security-wise, from network segmentation. It's too expensive (fishing cables, patching drywall, re-painting) and messy, to run catX cable. This seems like the best solution for us.

Similar boat on the fence with my rbk50, I am nervous about stability as orbi firmware had way more quirks with updates compared to previous other brand non-mesh.

These are great mesh routers. But unless you have Gigabit internet or the need to access your NAS or local resource via 500mbps+, they are completely overkill.

I have 1.2GB of speed with Xfinity. That would go well? I have 2000sqft apart.

Not unless you have Comcast 1200mbps plan that you could take advantage of. I have the plan, if I connect directly to modem I get 1380mbps, however my router is limiting to 885mbps. That's why I am debating if I want to upgrade or not. It's also future proof as both router and satellite have 2.5gb port

What do you have now and what cable modem do you have? If you have Comcast XB7, or your own MB8611 or Arris S33, then yes you would benefit from with that system.
