OnePlus is a nightmare to deal with. Worst customer support I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Wasted countless hours dealing with support over literally 2 months, had to send my phone in twice and lost a $20 Dbrand skin in the process. Issue was never actually resolved, and they refused to replace the phone. They'll forever be on my shit list now.
Thanks to itxjustin for the steps to make the phone SIM-free (unlocked to use on other carriers).

1. Turned the phone on without sim
---- Connect to WIFI --
2. Went to Settings, Connections
3. Select Network Unlock
4. Select Permanent Unlock
5. Done
6. Update to Android 11
7. Check with a non-TMO SIM to see if you can make and receive calls.
I had this phone for almost a year and a half. It was great at first but now it gives a "not responding" message every so often. Also gets a lot hotter than it used to.... I bought it for $400 awhile ago so I'm not complaining. I love the hypercharge feature, every phone should have it.

I think it's still a good phone for $250 but just know there are issues with it.

It's not easy finding a snapdragon 865 for $200.

It's listed as expired on the other 3 previous posts, but I just got one and it should arrive by Christmas. Save another 5% with Chase and PayPal. 5% education discount they verify with student beans. It's not easy finding a snapdragon 865 for $250.

It's pretty much sim unlocked after a few clicks. You can buy the dual sim tray off eBay or Amazon for $5-$10 if you like. The stock global firmware can be flashed if you don't want the T-Mobile version.
Is this a worthy upgrade of the Op5T?

Also, I'm familiar with flashing the firmware, but can this version really be SIM unlocked? I'm on ATT if it matters (the only reason I have to upgrade..my 5T is still like new)

Oh, so you too have random call drops and complete data cuts with poor speeds. Thanks att. That's why I will never use anything except mvno. Trash tier service. Towers are broken at my mom's house. They break from a storm and don't get repaired for 6 mo.

You just tap to permanent unlock without sim, reboot and it's done.
I'm actually on ATT prepaid and have generally been happy w my service. Here in PR, they sold the wireless division to Liberty, but technically still ATT.

Thanks for the info on unlocking!

If only they have the higher trade in values for phones again, otherwise it's luke warm for most.

Practically speaking, how much of an upgrade is this from the Pixel 3? (non-XL, Snapdragon 845)

Make an account then don't complete the purchase and ONEPLUS will most likely send you a code for $50 to your email in about 10 minutes.
