Get the Vetroo V5 with an extra heat pipe and ARGB fan for $5 more and don't waste your time with stamps and envelopes for a rebate that might never come.

I'm just gonna say this one thing about Cooler Master and their rebates. Of course, this is just one persons experience and may vary... With that said:

I ordered a similar deal from NewEgg back in 10/03/21. I submitted the rebate form soon after, like at the latest 10/07. I am still in "We have received your submission and it is being processed" state of the process. It has been in this state for over a month.

To add icing to the cake, the Hyper 212 I ordered (New) came with a missing screw. The T-shaped screw that is used to screw down the cooler to AMD fitting. I've been going through their customer support/RMA for the past month with no reply from them (since their initial reply) for almost 3 weeks. I can't even use the cooler at the moment and stuck using stock cooler that comes with AMD chip.

So... if you expect this to be a "deal", then lower your expectations. I've had great experience with Cooler Master's *products*, but their customer service is on par with Newegg. This is the first bad experience I had with their product, and that's because it's a missing part.

The sale without the rebate should be your deciding factor of whether or not it's a deal. Don't think having the rebate is what makes this a deal because you will be disappointed. Again... great product but absolute garbage customer service and customer support system in general.

Correction*: A slicker pointed out the duration of the rebate, which seems to be different by weeks (i.e. Amazon vs Newegg currently for same product). Anyways, taking that into account, I guess I jumped the gun on dissing their rebate going into my 10th week mark. Apparently I need to give them 4 more weeks at most, so... I can't confirm anything, but couple people here say they never had issues with their rebate. It's just $20, so I guess it's not bad waiting 3-5 months.

CM has to revamp this aging product to at least 6 cooling heat pipes, instead of just 4
They just need to make the pre-rebate price $20 and do instant rebates at this price. Adding extra heat pipes is expensive and takes up space and this performs fine for lower heat output processors.

This is a very good price. I bought one of these last yr from Best Buy after my AiO failed which totaled out to be $37.25 once my $5 price match discount was applied. If only I was in the market for one now 🙄, smh.

Just a warning:

The coolers are fine for performance per dollar, but CM support is complete aids if a screw on mounting bracket gets striped. Employees are egocentric and take forever to deal with issues if something comes up.

That's a pretty good idea also, just slash the price and dump the whole rebate process.
I think I used this product, 10-15 years ago, or perhaps 20?
I still prefer real enhancement, than just some 'cosmetics' make over

The rebate always comes if you are capable of reading and following simple directions.

So how long did it say it would take to process when you submitted it? This form shows 10-12 weeks and you are about 9 weeks in right now.

Yea I've never had an issue. It is shocking though how many people simply don't read directions and then are stunned when things don't happen the way they think it should.

If you're referring to this, "Please allow 8-10 weeks for processing of submission", on my form, then 8-10 weeks. Not sure why different from one in Amazon, but Newegg also currently has a rebate for this cooler and its form also says 8-10 weeks.

Sure I'm on week 9, but halfway through it. That's also based on if I was correct on when I mailed out the claim (now looking at day of 7th, that was a weekend and I submitted on weekday). But you're not wrong, I will admit I did not recall reading how long they said it would take and CM is still within their claim, so far.

I still stand by their terrible customer service system.

I bought the Hyper 212 RGB edition about 2 months ago from Newegg & it came with a $10 rebate. I nearly forgot about it! Guess what came in the mail yesterday? My $10 rebate card.
I am so tired of these mail in rebates and waiting forever. Why don't the retailers just give an instant rebate and help us avoid all the hassle and tracking for these low value discounts?

So, yah, in the future, I will not be buying something just because it has a rebate. Too much hassle.

Just to add a comment in case folks are considering the Hyper 212: I bought the Hyper 212 RGB edition and am very happy with it (using on Ryzen 7 5800X). I am not overclocking my CPU, and have found the Hyper 212 to work quite well. I'm still annoyed by the rebate process though! Just give instant rebates. Smilie

I have heard good things about the Vetroo as well. Hyper 212 is probably not much better than that (if at all). Some people go for the cooler master, I think, because it is a name brand. But Vetroo is also quite good. Just look up reviews and check YouTube. Lots of good test results on it.

Honestly, it's better to just buy a used older high-end heatsink on eBay or craigslist for $25-$30. They work much better and heatsinks rarely break.

I work for a company that uses the same rebate processor as Cooler Master and they are indeed slow. Typical turn around time to get rebate payment is 3-4 months. It's not coolermaster's fault, as several more companies use them for their rebate system. I got a $10 rebate on my 212 Black RGB about 2 years ago and it took just about 3 months.
