18 It's probably fine but they make 16 which is faster. It's unlikely to be noticeable. If you can change it to 16 and get the discount it would be worth it.

If you're using Ryzen (AMD) I would suggest CL16 or lower but with Intel I don't think it matters as much. 3600 CL 16 kits go on sale for ~$70 but in the long term that $ is pretty negligible. Generally with lower latency you get a better binned die as well.

Definitely noticeable. 3600 cl18 is the exact same as 3200 cl16. Can get the 3200 cl16 for cheaper. Or real 3600 and gain 10 fps. This is just a marketing scheme to take advantage of people that won't notice.

3800 CL18 is faster than 3600 cl14 on AMD provided your IMC can run it. Infinity fabric benefits from raw FCLK Frequency and 1:1 sync over actual timings. Higher the better.. Most 3000/5000 series "x" chips cap out at 3600 safely 3733-4000 is possible if good IMC.. Monolitihic "G" chips cap out at 4000-4200~ 1:1.

3600 cl 18 is better than 3200 cl14 for AMD specifically.

On intel, CL timings impact overall latency more, but bandwidth is bandwidth regardless of CL timing.

You have it backwards.
