They were also similar terms to local video stores. Remember if you didn't return the video, they couldn't rent it to someone else.

I really like the company, Big Potato Games, I messed up the sticker and they sent me a whole new game instead of just the sticker. Chameleon and Don't Get Got are pretty fun games from them too. Chameleon plays like a social deduction game and Don't Get Got is basically tricking people based off what your challenges say, you slip them into a wallet and carry about the day while playing.

One day rental fee was somewhat close to buying the video.
One day rental was not always a 24 hours rental as ya had to return a video by 5pm? the next day or get charged for 2 days rental when ya did not even have the rental for 24hours .
IF YOU FORGOT or could not return a video (or videos) the next day(s) you had to pay a 2,3,4 days Overdue rental fee for each video--often paying overdue rental charges you could have bought the video(s) outright and had money left over.
And Blockbuster had a mandatory policy to have your credit card on file so they won any customer dispute over all overdue charges and fees. $60-100 charge for a movie that cost $30...You paid it.
All the above got a tad more lenient over time when customers started getting sick and angry of Blockbuster's money grabbing ways and in big waves became ex customers.
Whilst some of this is exaggerated, the true parts were all consistent with their terms and conditions that you had to acknowledge in a signed agreement. If you didn't like their business, you didn't HAVE to be part of the "money grabbing" scheme.

Blockbuster became so big that they became the only choice to rent a movie. I find it ironic that they put so many mom & pop shops out of business and then before you know it, Netflix comes along and puts them out of business….
I remember the day my brother who worked in the film industry walked in my house with 3 red envelopes... I asked him "what is that"... He replied "the future of renting movies" This was before streaming came along. I simply laughed, I should have thought about investing.

I deliberated added the comment "all of the above got a tad more lenient over time" in Blockbusters final years as they eased up on the prior policies and business practices of thier first years.
And how is it a customer rents a movie for a "Blockbuster One day rental"; say at 7pm. They return the movie at 6pm the next day(when it is due back at 5pm). They get charged 2 days rental. How does a 23 hour video rental turn into a 48 hour rental? Only at Blockbuster.
Personally, i dont think i ever rented from Blockbuster. Walked in, walked out a couple of times. I just recall reading news articles about Blockbuster when they were around.
Rented almost daily for years from neighborhood movie rental stores. They charged a fraction of what Blockbuster charged. Dont recall any bad experiences--probably were some but not like i heard at Blockbusters
