That's not exactly the case with the warranty. You had me a bit nervous so I went and did a look around.

Here is the verbiage copied and pasted:

"The Product categories listed below are warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defect in materials and workmanship for a Lifetime from the original purchase date in non- industrial use; wear and tear is not covered. Lifetime is defined as the serviceable life of the Product. "Serviceable life of the Product" is defined as the period during which the supply of all components is available."

So that means it's covered as long as the supply of parts for servicing are available, which I would expect to last quite a bit further than the life of manufacturing of the tools. Obviously you could argue that they could just use up their supply to build the last few tools off the line, but they'd be setting themselves up for some serious backlash.

I didn't really find any complaints about HPT's warranty except for one forum post I found where they use a plastic part with damage as they were waiting on replacements. HPT did them right, though. The guy got to keep his tool and they sent him a whole new kit (tool, batteries, and case) in apology for the mishap. For now, I'd say this concern is unfounded.

Edit: To the guys that don't agree, I understand where you're coming from: chances are if these break in 8-10 years, the "lifetime" warranty won't do you much good. Fair point. But in the end, it's a better warranty than all of the competitors and the HPT line is on-par with all the competition. Frankly, I tend to abuse my tools (from HPT, Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Bosch) and maybe I'm lucky, but I still haven't had to deal with a warranty claim. These tools are great and don't let the concept of the warranty stipulations turn you off for some reason.

Great deal. Less than $50 a tool even excluding the flashlight.

I switched from DeWalt to metabo and have been happy with all my tools. I have a couple 36v tools and 6 18v tools. 36v batteries work on 18v tools at double the amp hours. Lowes clearanced some Metabo nailers for 75% off a year or so ago which got me started on the line. 18v framing nailer and finish nailer are awesome.

Seems like Metabo is starting to get aggressive with their pricing to make some bigger inroads on market share.

Well, this deal is about to take off to the moon. This is a ridiculously low price for such a solid selection of quality tools. This set is seriously so good for the price it's worth it for almost any homeowner looking to make their first tool purchase. I have a large selection of tools Milwaukee, Dewalt, Bosch, and HPT, and they are all excellent. These tools are going to last you a really long time and they're just as good or better than the more popular names. The triple-hammer impact in particular is superior to pretty much everyone elses' impact driver offering due to much shorter distance between impact actions, allowing for a much more control of driving in large screws at low speed. The 36v model, which is only a marginal step up in power, has been one of my primary drivers for a while now.

I am all Kobalted out in the last few years with multiple deals and several of the impact driver/wrench, 4 Drivers and all the other assortment seen on this one. So how would you compare the Metabo with the Kobalt 24V? Folks have compared the Kobalt tot he Dewalt in the past - but the Kobalt deals are no longer around at the prices they were in 2018/19.

I'd be lying if I said I had a lot of personal experience with Kobalt's power tool line. I never bought into them as it always seemed like their deals were on tools that I already had from Dewalt (most of my Dewalt tools are Flexvolt) or Milwaukee. I first bought into the HPT line when I got some of the 36V tools on a crazy deal. Kobalt has always been touted as surprising quality and value for the price, which is awesome. My personal experience with HPT is their tools tend to be equal or better finish than Dewalt and more comfortable to work with. The one tool many people argue is Dewalt's golden child is the oscillating tool. Personally, I have it and I don't like it as much as others. For demo and rough-in work it's great, but for precision cutting it sucks. You have to hold the trigger and adjust for variable speeds and the angle of oscillation is quite aggressive. I prefer an oscillating tool with a switch and variable speed dial, so I can hold it tightly with both hands for precision cutting and trim work. Sorry, I kinda went off on a tangent there, but my point is, you can't completely trust the majority consensus. Most of these tools are very, very similar on their power and reliability nowadays. Comfort can be very important too depending on how often you're using them. For this price, this deal is a no-brainer if you're in the market for a few of these tools. The platform is great and Lowe's has been running some amazing deals on the line for a while now and it doesn't look like that's slowing up anytime soon.

Price depends on shipping address. Had to ship it to my work address in order to get the $279 price. Shipping to (my) home gave the $349 price.

I was told by an emp that these great deals are to clear inventory either as a way to get out of the Metabo line or make way for improved versions. I have their 36V miter saw, love it, but their so called "lifetime" warranty requires sending back and is only lifetime as long as they still manufacture the product. Read the fine print. Not dissing, at this price a no-brainer, but I would hesitate to put at the level of Dewalt/Milwaukee at least over the long term. Just look on FB Marketplace or Ebay, no one sells this stuff to any degree compared to D/M. I bought my saw cheap like this deal or would have otherwise passed. There will be batts, etc. forever available for D/M, not so sure with the Metabo line.

Same here. I bought the drill driver kit for 130+tax. This seems to be a much better deal if the tools are needed. I compared their tools with M and D and Metabo hpt is my favorite.

That case that comes with the drill driver kit is nice but if I could only get one, I'd get the 7-tool kit.

Does it make sense to buy into this if you already have other cordless brands of weed/hedge trimmers and chainsaws? I don't currently but was thinking about buying those (Kobalt). Would be nice to have everything use the same batteries. I don't even the Oscillating Multi-Tool or flashlight and probably not even the grinder (I have a Dremel tool), but who knows. After owning a Dewalt cordless drill, I'll never buy another B&D brand, so that's out for trying to get for all these tools.
