I paid $150 from GP Knives, but it came with a Benchmade hat and they actually find a good one for you if you ask in the order notes.
I got a Boker Kalashnikov from Blade HQ during the Black Friday sale, asked them to send one with good centering and lockup, and they literally sent me the trashiest one they had in the entire warehouse.
Between all the cool Blade HQ employees from the youtube channel quitting because of the relocation to Virginia and the poor quality knives I've been receiving lately from them, I don't really want to shop at Blade HQ anymore.

They relocated due to complications with Covid, they still ship some things out of there original facility, just no store front. And for the record, they don't produce knives so the "poor quality" isn't on them.
The Youtube channel is still awesome even with the new faces..
For anyone looking to buy from them I say its a hard go, probally one of the best knife dealers around.
Although I have to say my hands are wide (short fingers though, made for farming and other physical intensive work). I recently purchased the mini griptilian during the focus camera deal and that feels much heftier and solid in my hands. Ended up reselling the 945 on Reddit.
To each their own though. I love everything about it except the size. Looking for the original 940 on sale. I think that'll fit my hands and expectations a bit better. For now, sticking with the mini grip for edc.

In terms of the blade steel, I have a Spyderco with SV30 blade that I put through hard use every single day for 8 years. Now I own 10+ knives with different, more expensive (possibly "better" steel), but that first EDC held up incredibly well and is still my favorite.
