In my mind Benchmade and folding don't go together.

I want a solid piece of metal in my knife, that I can stab into a tree then stand on it.

I used to have a mini Griptilian but sold it and got a North Fork [benchmade.com] because the textured grip on the Griptilian kept tearing up all my pockets which I hadn't thought about when buying, so this Osborne looks like a good alternative.

Coincidentally I just got my North Fork back today from their free sharpening service [benchmade.com], which I hadn't used before now, and it is looking good! Good reason to buy Benchmade if you're on the fence. Since it's a free service didn't want to bother trying to sharpen a harder steel myself at home like I do on my kitchen knives etc.

Also, got the North Fork for less than half the retail price from an old SlickDeal - best knife I've ever used but I could never bring myself to pay $190 for ANY knife!

I know how you feel. I saw this last night and it's been on my mind all day. Then I thought what the hell. Life is too short not to get one. The price is good. People are bidding for a used 945 on EBay at this price.

Steel changes throughout the times, even aus8 and vg10 used to be considered top tier steels back in the day. S30v used to be considered top tier but now it has fallen down a level or two.

I've been looking at this knife for a while now… this price is great! The wife said yes, so I'm in for one!

I live close to Benchmade's HQ, so I'll probably take more advantage to their lifetime sharpening service.

They're making fun of people that clamored over Benchmade's actions. Benchmade is obviously a huge supporter of military, police, etc. This was just the internet outage machine and a bunch of whiners looking to get mad. The mental gymnastics required to take a post about Benchmade answering police request for assistance by providing their equipment and expertise into some sort of planned anti-Republican behavior is mind boggling.

They let police use their equipment when asked. Nothing more.

So my benchmark 945 arrived today. Pretty fast shipping to CA. I expected the knife to be small but darn it feels even smaller in hand. Feels a tad larger than my Kershaw Leek. The build quality is great, it came sharp and centered. The action is good. For $125 I'm keeping it. But I don't think I would pay $205 full price for it. I also have a larger knife ZT 0452CF (4.9") which is sometimes hard to EDC. So I have room for < 3" knife in my collection. It is also very light. All my other knives are black and I didn't expect to like the green handle. But the green looks much better in real life. It's kinda of dark olive military green which grows on me. I hate bright green color normally. Overall it's a keeper but be warned it is definitely a small knife and feels like a "mini" knife in hand.

Opened my 945 for Christmas and it's def a small knife. Action is breaking in great and centering is perfect. A little smaller than I am used to, but very high quality. I'm a deep carry clip guy, but I am liking the split arrow clip. I wouldn't have paid $175, but for $125 I'm happy.
