I have this in black hoping it would be a cheap alternative to the Elite V1, but not very satisfied.
If you use a Xbox audio controller attachment that plugs into the bottom of your controller, DON'T GET THIS. This only has a headphone jack and not the Xbox connector port. I didn't realize this, but was already planning on getting a wireless mic as my next upgrade so I dealt with it until then.
The paddles are a block that clicks into the back. There's some wiggle room so it wobbles a bit. I don't think it makes much of a difference in practice, but I wish it was sturdier.
Also my right D-pad needs more force to register than the others. It depresses, but needs an extra force to sense it was pressed. The other three directions work fine.

All in all, for $30 as a elite controller substitute (that has to be wired), it's not bad. Just know the compromises. You can map the back buttons to anything fairly easily, but there are no profiles and no thumbstick adjustments in an app compared to the real deal.

I used this controller for rocket league, but my standard xbox one controller for most other things. In general I'd say these two controllers are comparable for build quality. I tried a PowerA "enhanced" wired controller before the fusion pro, and it was absolute garbage.

I spent a lot of time holding down the paddles on the fusion pro (I used one for boost, one for air roll). The boost side got around 20 total hours of contact (6 months) before it simply wore out. I switched the paddle to the lower part of the controller. The paddle lasted longer than my steam controller (and this is in general a much higher quality controller than the steam controller). Other than that the controller worked well.
My xbox controller left bumper went out from less use than that. It is a common problem.

I did not experience any stick drift, although I don't dial in my deadzone that close. If anything, my xbox one controller had more stick drift.

I've never used a third party controller that felt as good as the real deal before the Fusion Pro. The shape and even face buttons feel as good, or better than the xbox one standard controller. The fusion pro feels a bit more substantial, more solid in the hand. Ergonomics are very similar.

--------------
After reading about all of the elite issues people have I tried out the dual sense 5, then the Thrustmaster eswap pro. I couldn't get used to holding the dual sense with two fingers on the L1/L2 so I stayed with the eswap. At $160 it is ridiculously expensive, but I recon I could swap out sticks when they get drift, and the clicky back buttons are very responsive and high quality. The PowerA Fusion pro paddles feel sluggish and mushy by comparison.

If I knew I could buy the powerA fusion for $30, I probably would have purchased two and just stuck with it. Overall, it is a really great controller. I bet version two's new paddles are a nice improvement, but for occasional use for secondary items, this one will be ok.

I never tried the headphone port. Remapping is more intuitive than the Thrustmaster.

One annoying thing, if you put the controller down on anything that isn't totally flat (say your lap, on a couch, etc) you are going to press the triggers. It looks like the new version has the paddles stick out a bit less.

My XsX controller ended up with a bad headphone jack just after the 6 month warranty 😣

It absolutely felt like cheaper material right from day 1
If anyone else had that problem,

I did buy a replacement jack to fix it, pretty simple project

But haven't actually fixed it yet I just switch to a one s controller to have coms

I bought the black version of this for 40 the other week...never used an elite (or any other pro controller for that matter) but I think its definitely worth the price ...wired sucks but 30 buck is 30.bucks
I've heard over the years from other, much more competitive gamers, they prefer wired to eliminate the *probably miniscule* input lag

But in the competitive arena every little bit counts

although I'd imagine most of the competitive gaming would be related to pc
I'm not well versed enough to know what games would cause a pc player to play via controller

Yeah.. i hear that, understand that (in theory) but for a noncompetitive game like myself I'd prefer wireless... but that said I'd NEVER shell out for a msft elite controller.

Despite the cord, I give it a big TU for the price

Great for the price, the switches on the back can be useful for some or just get in the way, depending on your preference. The cable can be quite heavy, I wish this was wireless.

Still great deal.

Yup 100% with you on the price of an oem elite or elite 2

Especially with everyone I know that has owned one is said how they fall apart

I was considering it for a while if BB still has that extended warranty program, only because I wanted to see if having paddles would help eliminate hand pain

But I'm sure they'll be coming up with something for the XsX specifically, to pad their pockets more

New to this, does it work with PC? I want to try Forza 5 since many people suggest controller over keyboard.

Platformers, racing and fighting games mostly. PC FPS gamers are tending to play with controllers now too in games like COD/Halo, majority of my 'PC' players in COD lobbies are controller players. Aim assist + FOV sliders/graphic fidelity seems to be a big reason why a lot of PC players are using controller now for 'competitive' shooters.

Yes it does, the majority of Xbox controllers, especially wired ones are just plug and play and work fantastically.

Only if you plan on taking advantage of the program, though, correct? IOW, you can't just get the controller for $20 out the door, right?

Does this have drift issues?
Mine does after a lot of playtime though. The problem is the ring around the joysticks. There are teeth the hold them in place and wear out over time. Then the stick will start to catch on those spots. Overall though great controller.

I have this controller. I think it's great. Yes it's wired but if you can get past that, quality and feel is premium. I had the elite 2 controller, and it was trash, button and drift issues. This has many of the same features and customization. For $30 it's a steal. Even $80 totally worth it. I've played hard on it for almost two years. Should also mention wired gives a little edge for competitive play

Aim assist in competitive lol weenies

Even non-comp if CoD Alpha Male, Ape chest beaters, Prestige/Platinum whatever are Aim assisting what a bunch of losers

I don't ever aim assist fps, but I'm just a female gamer...who would ever take that seriously 🍄

Except in GTA cuz that is like a joke

Even Forza I use manual but I resist the urge to manual+clutch,
I'll leave that to the people that have the 1k for a racing rig
