Well you pay for that convenience of having to not get up and put a disc in the console, I know that extra 30 seconds must be grueling. I buy physical, not only because the games are always cheaper especially after a few months after release, but if I do buy new, I can resell it for most of my money back, which is super easy with OfferUp. Buy a game for $70, beat it, get $50 back for the next game.

reselling is for teens in the 10-12% tax bracket? That has got to be the stupidest thing ever written on here. Both my wife and I have careers, clearing well over 6 figures easy. 61% of wealthy people drive Hondas, Toyotas, and Fords (Forbes article). So please stop with your idiotic input.
It'll be $20 within the next month or two.
$15 and I'm in 😆

Biggest advantage of owning digital copies of game = game sharing on Xbox. Can't game share with physical discs. Probably why digital usually more expensive than physical.
This is only for XBOX?

Best price I've see from major retail, but for a disc 🙄 I used to like to have the physical disc too. But now I have to go all digital now with xBox remote playing on Phone and Laptop. I've gotten quit hooked playing remotely, even at home on the laptop.

Actually it's never yours forever when it's digital. It's a license that can be revoked at any time should your account be banned, the license expires or if they decide to revoke the license for any reason in the future. Nintendo has revoked licenses in the past, for the Wii/Wii U specifically IIRC

Nobody said using physical copies is grueling, but I know I play a bigger variety of games when I use digital, just because the process is convenient to flip between games without having to keep up with discs, store them, load the game, etc. Or the kids come in and want to play something else and it's easy to switch to something else.

Not really - Far Cry games are more open world than what you would see with BL. They are rife with things to do with the caveat that there's a lot of padded fluff in terms of collectibles that may not matter much and what not.

I've typically been a bit of a completionist on most of them as I tend to usually sell my copy on eBay when I'm done with it as I don't find them necessarily replayable value-wise - YMMV, but would rather move on to other games vs. rehash old ones.

The issue with discs is that you have to store them properly to ensure they won't get scratched, etc. Owning a digital collection is far easier since you obviously don't have to carry around a bunch of discs and cases when you move, etc.

Does anyone think this is worth it at 30? I love Far Cry but the reviews on this one haven't exactly made me wanna run out and buy it. For 30 I'm a little more interested, especially if i can play it quick and throw it up on eBay get most of my money back.

Correct, zero interest in swapping/storing/reselling discs.

'well over six figures easy' - that cliché response boggles; wide spectrum, could mean vastly different wealth; 1xx married CA min wage; 4-500k imo well into six figure, literally not figuratively. Maybe so if you're buying brand new games at high end of retail sell near retail; suggests ample time to play, influencer by chance?

'61% of wealthy drive Hondas, Toyotas & Fords'

Thank you for sharing that peculiar factoid! I've read the 1% own 40% - incidentally also 40% richer post pandemic- never knew of a top 40% club (wide gamut); doesn't sound like saying much other than you're the proud owner of Honda/Toyota/F (and physical games).

I wonder why physical copies tend to be cheaper than their digital counterparts. So unfair on many levels. You can't trade / sell digital games, you can't borrow / lend, and they are never ever YOURS like a physical copy is. I get the convenience part but physical copies don't really inconvenience me in any way shape or form. Digital games need "soft" infrastructure, I get that. But it still saves the companies a ton of money not having to print these discs, cases, booklets, etc. On the other hand, I am spending my own money on my internet bandwidth to download these whopping games and still paying more than physical.
For the most part it's supply and demand. Prior to the pandemic I used to work for a disc replicator company in Florida, the minimum order for game disc replication we would get for a triple-A game is around 2 million pieces/units. Those who tend to order more and have surplus often times lower their prices to stimulate sales because it costs them more to store/house these physical copies.

Wasn't this game launched last week? I guess it's not selling, despite hiring a drug lord to promo the product.

Quote from Shake-N-Bake :
No. It is not YOURS. They can remove the game from the store and remove your ability to download it. It's in their purchase agreement in the PlayStation store and other stores. They reserve the right to remove content, without warning, and provide no compensation. Platforms like Vudu say that, too. You never own digital products.

They have even done this in the past. Remember "The Wolf Among Us?" That got removed, I think it's back now, but they told everyone to download it, because they wouldn't be able to again, after it was removed. That's hardly the only time that has ever happened, too.
Far fetched hypothetical, particularly the part where you emphasize YOURS. License isn't yours either way, in that scenario you can't necessarily re download the physical copy when patched/updated version removed either then factor DRM can render any physical media as practically inoperable just the same.

Fun fact: BRD has an estimated longevity of 10 to 20 years & I'm still seeing my digital media downloadable 15+ years later. Who's winning now?

A very reasonable response, presumably voted down by Big Mad aka 'well into six figure easy'. Rofl3

Never thought the day would come where people would pay more money to not have to deal with the "grueling" burden of owning something, especially on a deal site.
