It depends on whether or not BOTW introduced you to Zelda or not. If you're all about the "go anywhere and do anything", you'll be disappointed in the linearity of this game and the comparatively small overworld.
However, if you grew up with the classic Zelda's like me and found the lack of proper dungeons in BOTW disappointing, you'll LOVE the dungeons in Skyward Sword. Some of the best dungeons in the franchise. IMO, they more than make up for the linear overworld, and especially if you love the 3D Zeldas like Ocarina, Majora's mask and Twilight Princess, you'll enjoy Skyward Sword.
I'd say just about every Zelda game is if you are into the franchise. There are different styles of games within it though. You have an world game like BOTW -- a formula that had not been seen since the original Zelda on the NES actually. Then you have the more traditional 3D action RPG in a non-open world. And also your top-down 2D style game like Link's Awakening for example. Kind of 3 distinct styles among the mainstream games in the franchise's lineage but all worth playing imo.
If you don't care for that style anymore it might be tough to go back to, but I prefer it and most other older Zelda games to BOTW.

Is this game worth it? After BOTW I feel like it will feel a lot more restricted without the open world aspect.

Lol I've been a Zelda fan since the original. Just BOTW introduced a whole new way to play so just wondering if going backwards will be tough. I might just get it then.

Cool. Thanks for the insight. Maybe I'll just get it then.
