Since I'm working on a major home improvement project I'm at Lowe's way too much...

I noticed my local Lowe's has all their First Alert Onelink smoke/carbon monoxide detectors on clearance for 75+% off. Both wired and battery. These all send alerts to your phone and interconnect with each other. The first two below are Homekit compatible, the third one is Alexa enabled and has a built-in speaker (for playing music etc) as well. All of them show stock at multiple stores near me.

These prices are IN STORE ONLY and NOT ONLINE. Lowe's links are given for reference only. Brickseek seems to be working for these items as far as I can tell.

First Alert 10-Year Battery-Operated Smart Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector with Voice Alert - from $28.67 (normally $114.81)
Lowe's [lowes.com]
Brickseek [brickseek.com]

First Alert 10-Year Battery AC Hardwired Smart Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector with Voice Alert - from $28.37 (normally $113.56)
Lowe's [lowes.com]
Brickseek [brickseek.com]

First Alert 10-Year Battery AC Hardwired Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector with Voice Alert - from $54.87 (normally $269)
Lowe's [lowes.com]
Brickseek [brickseek.com]

and this is a two-pack of regular old dumb smoke detectors, but a good price:
First Alert 10-Year Battery 2-Pack AC Hardwired 120-Volt Smoke Detector - from $23.38 (normally $46.76)
Lowe's [lowes.com]
Brickseek [brickseek.com]

If your store still has more stock at the further discounted price (or a store near you does) they should do a price match or return/rebuy. I've done it before with clearance items and they've never made a fuss about it.

ETA: to be clear, you'd have to go to the store with the lower price, they won't price match another location

Thanks - reviews aren't the best, but seeems like they may have updated the software to make them better since the initial release? My Lowes had 10 in stock. Seems like the nest protect is better, but difficult to justify the additional $80 per unit lol

Went to a local Lowes in Florida that showed it had 5 in the store. Actually had. 6 I went to buy 4 of them (2 residences) and only three had the sku ending in 05, the other three ended in 06. Both had the same Lowes item number. The 05 ones rang up as $28 and the 06 one came in at regular price. Store would not budge on the pricing of the 06 ones .. saying they were a newer model.

do you think a smoke detector really needs high bandwidth?

It's not about the bandwidth. It's about all the noise on that spectrum.

Do you know how many devices operate on 2.4? With only 3 channels?

OK, if you want to fight every other AP for a channel, but I turned that shit off a while ago.

if the noise is that bad then nothing is getting through. a smoke detector doesn't need a lot.
