Too expensive for SMR trash.
Is the "game drive" model SMR?

Does USB 3.2 really mean anything if the HDD can't write faster than 100 MB/s anyway?

Last decent 5TB deal was for about $80 from Newegg for a P10 Game drive WD Black. Looking for another.

Do any of these not go to sleep? It seems when I use these, whenever I do some file activities, Windows will pause while it spins up so it's ready, even if what I'm doing is only relevant to my internal SSDs: super annoying.

Can you control that in Windows power settings?

There's no other alternative at this pricepoint and this has a large enough cache that it performs like a CMR.

They rebranded USB again. Now USB 3.0 is just called USB 3.2 gen 1, and USB 3.1 is no more. There's also USB 3.2 gen 2 and USB 3.2 gen 2x2 (5, 10, and 20gbps respectively).

USB 3.2 gen 1 and USB 3.2 gen 2 (5 and 10 gbps respectively) can be done on USB A, but anything higher requires USB C (usb 3.2 gen 2x2 and usb 4; 20gbps and 40gbps respectively).

Guess you and some others have missed the part where I wrote "My experience". 👌
